Grandma's Birthday and Calgary
Mom and I had fun on June 19th - we drove around looking for photoshoot locations and also went into the greenhouse and bought flowers! We picked out orange and gold themes and pink and purple. We also went out to visit Cheryl Coates (horse stables where we used to keep our horses). That was fun and we got to have a drink while talking. I enjoyed petting a few horses though I was wearing white shorts so the dogs just loved to gravitate toward me X_x
After we finished we went home and planted flowers and ate something. I then went to Karate - did ok in sparring since I had to work with three black belts including Lyle. Fortunately they know not to be mean and they try to teach you instead of using you as a floor mop. I think I also sparred with 2 green belts. Little easier but all the same they've had more practice. Hahaha, the one hot green belt was all sweaty after class and he put on this really nice white button shirt and it was getting wet. I laughed and said, "You can take it off!" Everyone snorted.
We then went for ice cream with Grandma. I love ice cream but hated to do that RIGHT after I exercised. I had a scoop of chocolate mint and a scoop of Skor. Rawr.
For Calgary we headed out at 9am and I glare at Rand McNally today for completely leading us off base. It lead us into some neighborhood at least a mile away from 11th ST. WTF?
I'm glad my Dad loaned me a big map of Calgary - I found us to Ikea.
Carla is very cool. We had a lot of fun eating and shopping in Ikea. By the time we left we had a cart full of goodies. Candles, plates. I wish I could have bought more but I have suitcases to worry about.
We went to Market Mall on the NW side of Calgary and that was a blast too. First stop was purses and shoes in The Bay. Then the Mac counter where mom bought $50 worth of nice makeup. I want her lipstick! Then we ate at OPA! (greek) and proceeded to go Lush and clothes shopping. We all bought a little something from Lush. Nor could we resist clothing from Suzie S; Carla bought the same shirt that I did since we both loved it. LaSenza was our last stop (aka Victoria's Secret since they own LaSenza but they don't carry the same products) I bought 2 pj sets and Carla bought some too.
By that time we were all tired and it was like 6:30pm or something. So we meandered out. I found a toonie in the womens bathroom. (Yes I washed it LOL) And Mom asked me to drive home. Easy.
On the way back home there was a huge thunderstorm but the most AWESOME rainbow came out. One of those which is a full half circle and very vividly bright. It was right over the farmers fields and just looked awesome. I *HAD* to pull over and take pictures. *Screeeech* And within seconds everyone who was too shy to do so was also pulling over behind me *LMFAO* People were posing in front of it, it was so funny that we had a small tourist thing going on the side of the highway.
I took off carefully and we stared at it for 1/2 the way. I also took some awesome pictures of the sky. Mom held the steering wheel while I took photos O_o That was freaky but they seemed to turn out.
