Alma, I'm preparing a meal. Are you hungry?

[HANGS UP and shuffles into the kitchen!]

I am, now that you mention it... [staring at the stove] Do you require assistance?

If you wouldn't mind...

[Chopping some vegetables! WHAM WHAM WHAM.]

Of course not. If we are to be trapped in this house together, we may as well work together, even if it is on something mundane as supper.

Quite right. Now, there should be some broth in the....cold box. [waves knife at the fridge] Would you heat it up?

Certainly!

[Alma hums cheerfully as she retrieves said broth from the box of coldness, brrr, fetches a pot, and fiddles with the stove. She has to take a moment to marvel at it, because these appliances are pretty damn cool! Thankfully, she seems to get the hang of it pretty quickly, so the house won't be burning down today!]

It has been some time since I've cooked... not since I was in the monastery. [a sigh, she kind of misses it there] Did you cook often at home?

Yes, almost all the time. Being...the daughter of a goatherder meant a lot of chores. [nooo memories noooo]

[Alma sees that look on her face and... feels kind of bad, oops. She smiles as she stirs her broth, an attempt at cheering mommy back up!]

Ah... I was born into the nobility, myself, but... [she wrinkles her nose] Status is not so important to me, and I spent most of my life in the monastery, anyway. Everyone is equal there, as are our responsibilities.

[kanye shrugs the bad feelings off; there's no time for that.]

That's good to hear. I care little for status myself; an able body, a clear mind, and a kind heart are more important than some title. We all bleed the same, don't we?

It is good to know that we are on the same page! 'tis a shame others with status do not share my thoughts, but... [shrug] Someday.

At least in this our company will not prove mutually insufferable.

[scoops up her chopped veggies and puts them in a bowl, yum salad]

That's why I leave the nobles to their petty squabbling and games.

Indeed; I've no desire to become involved in any of that business. My brothers, on the other hand... [She looks weary.] I am fortunate that they are content to leave me out of it, for the most part.

Mm! Ramza and I have two elder brothers: Zalbaag and Dycedarg. I am not as close to them as I am to Ramza, I'm afraid, but... I love them all the same. [even if they are giant douchebags who called for her best friend to be killed...]

Ah....it sounds nice, to have such a big family. [lmao if she only knew] I was an only child, though I did find a sister in my dear friend Liane. [whom she tends to accidentally abuse/ignore pretty regularly asdfghjkl OOPS]

It... I suppose it is, though as I said, I have never been very close to them, though Ramza is very dear to me. [a beat] I had a friend like that, too; she and her brother were good friends to Ramza and I, in our childhood. They were more like siblings, as much as my blood brothers, I think.
