Alma, I'm preparing a meal. Are you hungry?

[HANGS UP and shuffles into the kitchen!]

I am, now that you mention it... [staring at the stove] Do you require assistance?

[Chopping some vegetables! WHAM WHAM WHAM.]

Of course not. If we are to be trapped in this house together, we may as well work together, even if it is on something mundane as supper.

Alma? What are you looking for?

You, actually. [big smile!] I wanted to speak with you, if you could spare some time for your dear little sister.

[heroetic]

I can always spare time for you, Alma. What troubles you? I hope you've been alright living here... I apologize, but my efforts to find a way out have not born fruit yet.

[sisterofheresy]

You are not the only one searching for a way out, brother. It may take some time, but we will make it home, I'm sure of it.

...Before, you mentioned that I'd been abducted. I had hoped to make some sense of that.

Your name is Alma...? My name is Alma, too! [ You can practically hear him beaming through the airwaves. ]

... Ah, and as for learning about Mayfield... I've only been here for a little while, but I can probably answer a few questions, if you have them.

Is it? What a lovely coincidence! 'tis a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Ser Alma~ [she has to giggle a bit]

Ah... are we really all trapped here? And for what purpose? My brother made mention of my being abducted, but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with this town.

[sahasraras]

It's nice to meet you too! [ ... ] Ah... what does 'ser' mean? I've never heard a word like that before...

All of us are... although nobody knows why, exactly. There doesn't seem to be any particular reason. And sometimes, very strange things happen here, and there doesn't seem to be a reason for those, either.

Perhaps the people who did this thinks it's amusing...?

Ah... [Confused silence. Why would you not know what "ser" means -- oh wait people here are from different worlds or something aaah so weird] 'tis only a formality! Similar to, hmm, "mister," I suppose.

Who would find amusement in all this, though? It is bad enough that they take us from our homes and our families, but to make us suffer through other things, on top of that... That is bordering on cruelty, I should think.

[That's okay. The local non!drone nun was busy with something in the back so she missed you coming in, but she'll be quiet and keep to herself until Alma is done. That's definitely a new face here; after all, only so many non-droned people would come, and Ciel's already memorized all those regulars.]

[Alma bows her head and dusts off her skirts as she stands back up. Her hands are clasped behind her back as she glances around, admiring the church, and she looks very relaxed, like she's very happy to be there. Which she is!]

[That's a refreshing sight to see. She'll speak up softly once she's sure that the other woman is done.

'Faram' isn't anything that she's ever heard of, but that can be overlooked.]

Good afternoon, miss. I do apologize for missing you upon your arrival, but nevertheless, please allow me to welcome you to the Church of Salvation. You would be a recent arrival to Mayfield, if I may presume?

Ah-- [Alma, having been somewhat absorbed in her own thoughts, still hadn't noticed Ciel's presence. She jumps when the other woman speaks, but relaxes almost immediately. Well, she seems friendly enough.]

Thank you kindly, though you've no need to apologize. I am new to this place, though, yes... [She favors Ciel with a smile and a curtsy.] My name is Alma Beoulve. Do you work here, milady?
