So... I've been reading about out of body experiences from so called "experiencers" but have yet to read the famed Robert Monroe's "Journeys Out of the Body", who supposedly could achieve out of body states at will. I haven't had an experience like it that I can recall. The closest I have had to it was laying on my side facing the wall, my ( Read more... )

Those are pretty significant I would think! I haven't had anything. Maybe one time actually. I was sleeping but found myself leaving the room to get water, everything was black and white and I always dream in color, I saw all of my empty water bottles laying around it was so specific to detail and when I opened the door I woke up but I never looked back to see a body so for all I know it was a dream.

I had an out of body experience once, but it was drug induced.

I'd still enjoy hearing about it, if you are willing. Sometimes drugs hinder parts of us that could possibly hold us back otherwise. Does that makes sense?

Well, the drugs had been taking a hold of me for twenty minutes maybe. I was sitting on a bench and had a falling sensation. I felt like I was peering at myself from around a ledge beneath me, as if I were standing on some diagonal plane intersecting with the ground where the bench was. It's sometimes easier to draw than to explain. And in a rush I snapped back to my regular perspective.

I also had a near death experience when I almost drowned as well, but I wouldn't characterize that as out of body as I never saw myself during the experience.

Okay well NDEs are my passion, I think I would have to say... so if you are feeling generous and can articulate what you experienced, I would be thrilled to hear!

Yes, it seems that what I have read, even with astral travel, is simply placing your awareness somewhere else and the rest can follow. Experiences that you can validate (remote viewing and having someone confirm what you saw) are even more exciting.

I have these experiences every once in a while. Usually I only get as far as to standing just outside of myself, or looking down on the situation and observing it from way up high.

I'm not good at controlling these kind of things. My body just kind of does it when it wants to. I noticed that the time it was most likely to happen was when I was deathly ill.

Its interesting to me when some have these experiences randomly and either once in a while or fairly often yet others never do. I wonder why this is...

Happens less than the amount of times I see things before they actually happen.
Happens more than being able to...
Hmm.

I will tell you in good time. Not here.
