I'm gross! :(
I had planned to paint my toenails today, but after I removed the old polish, I noticed something disturbing on the nail of my left big toe. It's discolored a dark yellow (the other nails aren't yellow, so I know it didn't turn yellow from nail polish, which happens sometimes), and is separating from the nail bed. It also smells really bad- like my toenail has a yeast infection. It appears that I have toenail fungus. I'm pretty bummed, 'cause nail fungus is such a gross thing to have, and I've always prided myself in having cute feet- hawt chicks aren't supposed to be fungal. Plus, it's hot- why couldn't this have happened during winter??? I can't wear flip-flops in public now. Plus plus- I just bought these really awesome vintage 70's open-toed platform Famolare sandals (seen here on my non-fungal foot), and now I won't be able to take them disco dancing for a while.
I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow, to hopefully get a prescription for oral anti-fungal medication.
