This is one of my better songs lyric-wise.

Remember when the days would climb so effortlessly toward the sky
And drive away the cold that settled in?
The sun was hoisted up by ropes and held in place by anteloupes
As ice antagonized the warming winds
The thawing trees all spoke in tongues, extending limb to limb like rungs
Of ladders leading up to heaven's door
I rose above the canopy and turned my head toward the breeze
To see our home collapsing, roof to floor

Although we spoke of being free, in truth we felt like refugees
Suspending all the dreams we'd hoped to live
Though these were not the best of times, and though my reasons seldom rhymed
Your heart was mine to break as I saw fit
You asked me if I'd treat you right, and with a question I replied,
"Is love like making gestures to the blind?"
Our youthful souls fell from the sky with leaves and seeds and alibis
And flew like moths to incandescent lights

Our bodies fertilized the soil but saw no praise for endless toil
As flowers grew between our aging bones
The shifting plates, with all their faults, have taken us as grains of salt
And tossed us over shoulders made of stone
However hopeless it may seem, and if our lives are but a dream
Of some celestial being so aged and cold
If all of which we think we know are all of things that can't be sold
Perhaps our dreams exceed their weight in gold

What's left of us, quite like the dew, will someday soon fall victim to
The frost that swallows everything in sight
The anteloupes grow weary of suspending the great star above
Inevitably bringing on the night
Our bodies still and intertwined in light that seems to seldom shine
Yet sometimes find a reason to lie still
If all of which we think we feel are all of things one cannot steal
Perhaps the space between us is not real
