In Australia, the bush seems to allways be on fire.

So much so, our plants are not only adapted to it, but some plants require fire to reproduce.

In many cases, fire is essential to their way of life.

As for the kites, they are happy feeding on the bugs escaping the flames.

An easy meal and almost every bird that can see the smoke has turned up.

Good article.

This year we are also bracing for a big fire season.

SA, Vic, NSW, QLD all in drought and setting the conditions for a perfect firestorm if the winds are bad this summer.

Most of Australia is dry as a tinderbox, ready to go up in smoke as they say.

Right now we are conducting controlled burns as part of strategic planning.

Having been through big fires before, this year could be a recipe for disaster.
