Bushfires and Kites

Today I passed a wild fire, and on the front I saw hundreds of kites and other hawks swarming the front catching the insects fleeing the fire.

Kites have also been known to start fires and spread the flames through the region in order to get a good meal out of the oppertunity.

Bushfire is always a tragedy for the forest. And OMG how many kites in the sky!

In Australia, the bush seems to allways be on fire.

So much so, our plants are not only adapted to it, but some plants require fire to reproduce.

In many cases, fire is essential to their way of life.

As for the kites, they are happy feeding on the bugs escaping the flames.

An easy meal and almost every bird that can see the smoke has turned up.

Very interesting because in our forests, birds try to escape fire.
