getting a house

so as some of you may heard, I am getting my house. $147,000. An easy sum to spend, month by month, and not too bad for that. All told, I figure $1300 in housing expenses, give or take. Round up to $1500. I spend $1000 a month right now, mostly in gas and travel and entertainment, so that won't change. But let's throw in another $1000 in set up costs and consumables say.

A tidy sum of back envelope math.

I can afford it, of course, which is wonderful, and I think it will be good to really make a stab at being my own person. throw in some roommates - hopefully current friends - and charge them $800 a month and that knocks a lot off the sum to make me living well for less than rent would be. sorta, of course.

but it is all somewhat lonely. should i be rooting myself in cleveland when it seems clear my future isn't here? where is it - i don't know. i dont think i will meet it here, but I think i do need to meet the challenges of here here. that only makes sense, right? i think a house will help. i've always hated comprimise and its too easy in cleveland - especially at home.

so now we'll try it at my house. i'll post pictures once i move in! worst comes to worst - i'll sell it :-)
