If I come across as really bitchy or whatever, sorry in advance. I'm having a really bad day...
And yet, I don’t go to church. I refuse to in fact. So does that make me any less of a believer? No. But it's dangerous to walk on your own. Too easy to be swayed. I see church as more of a place to expand my view of what could be; I do not by any means agree with everything that is said in there. But it makes me see things differently. It's also a place to hook up with people who help me walk the 'right path'.
I don’t believe in factions, and I refuse to claim a denomination. *shrug* A lot of people don't. You don't have to.
As for the whole tithing thing, it /is/ in the Bible, to give 10% of your earnings...I'd have to look it up, can't remember what it is right off-hand. I'd go into that, but I don't feel like it right now...
If you're in a church that's boring to you, then you're not in the right place. It took my family at least 10 years to find a church that was alive, where you could /feel/ things happening. I find that too many people just try a few churches and then give up. There's /so much/ out there...
