So here she was.
That guy sounded vaguely familiar, though.
"Something like that."

He smiled a little crookedly. "It was this or my empty apartment. What are you drinking?"
Reply
"This or the freaks outside for me. Scotch. You?"

"Smells like it too."
But she gives a teasing grin before she leans back, maybe looking a little embarassed now.
"It's stupid, actually. Got off a little too late working."

He eyed her sidelong and smirked. "Well, happens to the best of us. You're not gonna be stuck here all night, are you?"

The thought of this is actually a little worrying, and it shows a bit. But she tries to perk up at his next question.
"I think I'm going to be. If I knew I'd get stranded I'd have brought my gun, but taking an AK to your first day at work isn't the greatest impression ever."
Despite this she makes an 'eugh' noise at the thought of being here all night. At least it wasn't a bad place, but she wouldn't have minded a bed.

Billy seemed to perk with interest when she mentioned her gun. He set down his beer and eyed her again.
"You have an AK?" he asked, sounding impressed. "Shit. Where'd you pick up that kind of firepower?"

Wait a moment. The 'custodian at a grade school' thing got her attention, and when she seriously studied him for a moment she actually recognized...
"... Billy?"
It'd been about a week since they talked, but she was hard-pressed to completely forget a face.

"Wait. Oh, yeah. Uh... Rochelle, wasn't it?" He smirked again. "Good to meet you in person."
Reply
"Billy!" She grinned. "It's good to meet you!"

He paused for another swig of his beer, awful as it was. "You gonna try to be a news anchor or something?"
Reply
"Not exactly. I was a producer back home."
