Modern Day Pirates
Who: Batgirl and Mercury
When: Before Sirens, December 4
Where: The Docks
Summary: Pirates are out to raid incoming supplies, and it's up to Batgirl and the mysterious Mercury to save the day when things go south!
Warnings: None
Batgirl's intel said that tonight was the night of the hit. The ship would finish unloading before the sirens and the stock count wouldn't be finished until it was too late to do anything about it. Luckily she had insider information.
She had the same in with the guard that they did, making them ridiculously easy to follow. Actually, the whole thing was just a little too easy. Batgirl stayed on her guard, keeping to the darker halls and climbing on the ceiling when she had to stay out of sight.
Reaching the room they were supposedly ripping off (having taken care of the loaders actually responsible for the area), she paused. Something here was horribly amiss. For one thing, there was nobody there.
For another thing, the door shut behind her with an ominous squeak that made her skin crawl. Someone knew she wasn't supposed to be here.
She didn't recognize the man at the door, and he certainly didn't recognize her.
"I don't know how you got past security, little girl-" She had to stop herself from rolling her eyes at the very much overused line.
"I'll be gone before you know it," she interrupted. The chaos didn't erupt until the smoke bomb went off. A male umph as a foot made contact with the back of a head, a female "you locked the door? Seriously?" There was shouting down the hall, the sound of running footsteps, a gun fired, a man shouting and Batgirl's "huh?" A few more gunshots and shouting, and then everything erupted.
The hull of the boat exploded.
