{ A beautiful sunset. Plenty of clouds, colors playing behind the shadows of buildings. She feels a bit nauseous at the thought. Only in this city could something so wonderful be so awful.
Tonight she starts in the residential areas and works her way in. It's a good thing too. The sound of a swing-set coming to a stop is the last thing she hears before the sirens go off. Somebody waited too long to leave the playground. She's not too worried. Surely the child's mother will walk him or her home not too far away and they'll be safe and sound. She's about to move when she hears the scream.
In moments Batgirl is on the scene. She rolls into a street between a boy not much older than ten and five rather large men decked out in ratty halloween costumes. They're meant to look like monsters. Monsters from the Darkness. If the kid got to the police he would just tell them the monsters got him. }
You guys made a huge mistake. Those outfits are so outdated.
{ The knives they pull out certainly aren't outdated. And neither is the gun one man is toting. They make bizarre guttural noises to keep in character. }
Kid, do me a favor and hide. Now.
