Blaine hadn't realized how much he'd missed this place until he was standing in it again. The last time he had been here was for his therapy with Emma and then Kurt's hospitalization had taken all of his attention and caused him to put off coming back. He knew that was dangerous, and probably a little unhealthy, but after going back home for seven months and coming back to find only the weekend had gone by, he felt better and it seemed silly to call for his next appointment.

Then Santana and Rachel had shown up and taken his attention, as had settling back in. He hadn't even been over here to learn more about his powers or to watch movies that had exploding things in them with Jubilee over pizza. It made him feel like he was neglecting friends, friends who had helped him through what had been the hardest time of his life.

Thanksgiving was the prefect chance to make it up. On Thursday he had spend the day with Kurt and Rachel and had managed to finally keep down some real food. That had turned out to be a real blessing, as Kurt had made such an amazing feast for them to share. Saturday though, he had told them both about this gathering and asked them to come with him.

He was still exhausted and sore from being sick, but he was past the point of sneezing or coughing on everyone. Despite being so worn out, he felt lucky to have had Kurt to look after him and to have friends who planned out holiday gatherings.

The Port still wasn't home, but it was surprising how much it was starting to feel almost normal to be here.

"Hello Blaine." Erik called out from the hall to the rec room, magnetically balancing a plate with fruit he was eating off of, a mug of coffee in his hand, a fork in the other. "I'm glad you came."

Blaine smiled when he saw the older man. He had the look of someone who had just recovered from the flu, a little pale and tired looking, but his hair was perfectly maintained and his smile was genuine.

"Hey. Can I help with anything?"

"Not at all, you're a guest. Guests don't help." Blaine didn't look well to him, but he didn't look ill enough to fuss too much. Still. "There's some juice in the kitchen, and plenty of food." Eat, in other words.

It was an easy motion, touching the back of his hand to Blaine's forehead for a moment. "If there something you'd like?"

Blaine closed his eyes for a moment at the touch, unable to stop the weird flutter in his heart at having such a strong, masculine hand touching him with concern.

"I'm okay," he said after a moment. "I had a cold for a bit, but Kurt took care of me. He's been excellent at it. There was even homemade soup."

"Looks to have been worse than a cold. What kind of soup?" Soup is the best medicine for a basic virus, really,

"Chicken soup? It had really excellent broth."

He tried to turn it into a bit of a tease, to help Michael feel less concerned. "I hope you don't take offense if I say it was the best soup I've ever had?" He smiled a bit, playfully.

It had been over half a year for him since he had been here eating the soup that Michael made, but he still remembered it clearly.

He laughed softly. "I wouldn't. Something made by someone you love, and who loves you in return, always tastes better than anything else."

Sorry Blaine - he remembers dying of influenza, and his parents stories of the 1918 pandemic.

"You boys where home for a little while, weren't you?"

"For seven months," Blaine answered, sobering up as he thought about it. "When we got back though, only the weekend had passed. It was a little disorienting."

"Yes, that would be. You look more...grown." Yes, he'd noticed. "Jubilee was home for a couple years and here less than a week."

Blaine looked a little embarrassed by the first comment, but he couldn't even begin to consider the second part. "Did she forget everything when she was back home?"

"I think so. Not everyone does though. What about you two?" He noticed the slight embarrassment, but chucked it up to him being fussed over like he was one of Magneto's grandchildren.

Blaine shook his head. "It was hazy for me, like a dream. I forgot about it after a while." A pause. "I didn't want to think I would have really done the things I did here, I think. It was easier to believe that it was some weird fantasy."

"That's understandable. This place...it doesn't reflect poorly on you, realize. A place like this. It's not-don't judge yourself harshly." Gently, sincerely.

"And I've heard that before. It being dream-like."

He offered Michael a thankful smile. "Kurt says the same thing," he said after a moment. "Things are better though. That's what matters."

"I'm glad to hear that. Come on, let's get some food into you. Perk your colour up." No he wasn't kidding. But there was plenty of light foods as well, and tea and coffee as well.
