Yosuke, on the other hand, is not well-rested, and definitely not happy. He's slumped over the table in a grumpy, ruffled pile, hair staticky from burying his head under a pillow all night. Thanks, dude. Really.

On the bright side? There's already tea. But a tired grunt is all the greeting Uryuu is getting this morning.

A transformation technique is one of those things... It's simple and doesn't consume much chakra, so it's easy to forget about. Useful when preparing an attack, so that one isn't too distracted to use other techniques simultaneously.

...Not so great when one is sleepy and forgets to dispel it before wandering out of the bedroom.

Drifting into the kitchen now is a beauty wearing nothing but a faded, over-sized Nirvana t-shirt. It falls well above mid-thigh and leaves very little to the imagination, but what does it matter when she thinks she's only in the company of her lover? She's so worn out, she isn't paying attention. She rubs at her eyes and manages somehow not to smear her perfect mascara, then brushes her silky black hair back with her fingers. The effect is supernatural, of course - no one looks that good straight out of bed.

She sneaks up behind Uryuu to kiss the back of his neck.

Keigo's up before noon for once - ? No, wait, it's Yosuke.

"Oh, good morning." He blinks, then spies the tea pot. Well, it was kind of him to brew enough for everyone. - Everyone. Shikamaru. Had he remembered to tell - ?

The settling of a full bosom and warm lips against his back and neck derail the thought.

"A-ah..." His face colors. Uryuu was far less shy last night, but things change when there's someone in your kitchen. He pulls Shikamaru's arm around his waist and squeezes 'her' hand. He clears his throat. "Good morning. ...I believe you know Yosuke?"

Yosuke's eyes wander up and down the girl automatically, but only briefly enough to make his cheeks go a little warm. Any longer would be disrespectful to the dude who happened to be lending him a couch for the time being. Nice, he menally tosses out to Uryuu. Because, damn.

He clears his throat a little just to make sure his voice won't do something embarrassing -it gets a little oakey in the morning, but still breaks easily before it warms up- and shakes his head, slowly.

"Uh, no. We haven't officially. Uh. I mean." He coughs, and turns his eyes down to the table for a second before bringing them back up, slowly. "I'm Hanamura Yosuke. It's...well. Don't worry, I won't be in the way for very long."

The noise the girl makes is shriller than she means it to be. Something between a gasp and a squeak, not loud enough for a scream. Just how had Shikamaru failed to notice Yosuke? It's mortifying for more than one reason. Yosuke's never seen him like this, not in all the time they lived together. And somehow he feels more naked as a she. But that isn't even the important part. It's - last night - and how long has Yosuke..? - and did he see that just now? - and will he figure this out?!

She's been slowly shrinking back this whole time, maneuvering to be half-hidden by Uryuu even though it really doesn't do much good. Her face must be bright red (though it probably comes off as adorable, given the manipulative aspect of the technique).

"Um. S-Sorry, Yosuke. Uh. You don't have to... I can just..."

Girl or not, that's definitely the first time Uryuu's ever heard Shikamaru squeak. Uryuu sends her a concerned look and feels ashamed; he should have warned her. She's probably just as uncomfortable with public affection as he is...

He almost answers that yes, of course Yosuke has met her, but if Shikamaru doesn't want to reveal herself then he really has no place doing it for her.

"...Why don't I make us breakfast? I think we have eggs. I can make omelets. Please, no one has to leave." Uryuu gives Shikamaru's hand another squeeze - meant to be reassuring - and attempts to disentangle.

Yosuke's nose wrinkles slightly at the suggestion of eggs for breakfast, which Uryuu of course wouldn't understand yet, but Shikamaru no doubt does.

"It's alright, I don't need to stay for break-[damn that word for always making his voice crack, that's so embarrassing]-fast, I can get something before work. I'm late already, anyway, for um. A thing. I shouldn't keep that guy waiting."

He stands up from the table way too quickly, and ends up dropping the tea he'd completely forgotten was in his hands and spilling it everywhere.

"Damn it! Ow! Damn it!" And with a glance to the 'lady' in the room, "um, sorry. I wasn't-" But he grabs his side and hisses miserably. Then addresses Uryuu again, sheepishly. "Could you toss me that towel, dude?"

Why is Uryuu inviting Yosuke to stay? He shouldn't even be here. Shikamaru shoots Uryuu a distressed look, blurting, "I... I hate eggs!" Which is true. But the real point is, she doesn't want to stick around for this little breakfast thing with not-boyfriend and not-ex-boyfriend.

The splattering tea interrupts any further words. Some of it splashes on her bare legs, scalding and startling her so she jumps back. "Pain in the ass," she whines - or it sounds whiny, with this voice. She grabs the towel before Uryuu can hand it over, bending to wipe down her legs before passing it on to Yosuke. Again, with the technique activated, this appears more sensual than Shikamaru intends.

And then Uryuu is watching a train-wreck in his kitchen. He glances slowly between Yosuke and Shikamaru, as if he's never seen them before. Yosuke, lying so obviously that Uryuu wants to physically wince in embarrassment for him, and Shikamaru so obviously panicked over Yosuke's presence that he wonders if he should offer to let her hide in the bathroom ( ... )

Even holding his side in pain, Yosuke's eyes don't fail to bob up and down with the motion of the mystery woman wiping that tea off of her slender, shapely legs. He's always been a leg man. Except that, a second later two very important things register with him, and he drops the towel in the puddle of tea. He can barely mouth a silent 'no way' before Uryuu takes charge of the situation.

All the same, Yosuke's entire face is various shades of pink and red and nearly purple in some spots, his eyes flitting like panicked wasps, landing everywhere and staying nowhere. He clears his throat three times before he can get anything to actually come out of it. "I have to! I can't just stay home sick for-for this! It's fine, I swear. Fai-sama is counting on me. Someone has to do the dishes, right?"

It's probably better that he doesn't mention how seriously bad he is at that, either. If he doesn't drop it and break it, it probably gets sent back at least twice to be washed again. He's always confusing the settings on the dishwasher and the

"I-It's alright..."

Wait - wound?

All of those self-absorbed worries fly right out of Shikamaru's mind. As she straightens up, her eyes go to the side that Yosuke's clutching. "You're hurt? What's wrong? How bad?" Shikamaru can't help but fuss over him; Yosuke just has a tendency to die really easily. "Uryuu's right. You're not going anywhere. Sit down, Yosuke. Lemme take a look."

"Exactly." Uryuu affirms Shikamaru's order with a nod, standing to wring out the towel over the sink. He wets it with water. "If you can't make a simple movement without reacting like that, you aren't well enough to go through a work day. Moving at this point is only going to make your injury worse, whatever it is. You'd be better off not arguing and going to lie down on the couch. Let us look at the wound. I'm the son of a hospital director and Shikamaru knows healing techniques; you're outnumbered on this matter."

He pushes up his glasses primly and mops the spill spot on the floor with the damp rag. There - now it wouldn't be sticky.

Yosuke instinctively leans just a bit closer to Shikamaru, as if drawn by some inner magnet. A girl is worried about him! Except, no. No. He makes an odd, strangled, squawking noise when Uryuu confirms what he's been trying not to let himself suspect. That is no girl, that's his-well, whatever Shika is to him, anyway. What the hell kind of scroll does that to someone?

"Holy shit." His voice is still squeaking embarrassingly, but it's the furthest thing from his mind at the moment. Yosuke glances to Uryuu, completely out of his element and subconsciously seeking out the one guy in the room who will tell him to buck up and stop making such a scene. He can't keep his eyes off of Shikamaru for long, although he never lets himself look for long before he pries them off by force and focuses back on Uryuu, mopping up the tea from the floor, or the window across from them, or the ceiling, or the back of his eyelids while he counts in his head. One toad, two toads, three toads, eel.

He squirms uncomfortably. Great. Now he needs to pee.

"...Nice one, Uryuu," Shikamaru mutters under her breath. And then, more sharply to Yosuke, "Stop making that face. This can't be the weirdest power you've ever seen." And Shikamaru can't decide whether it would be more awkward to switch now or to stay in this form. Therefore, the girl stays. It requires less effort.

"Come on, take your shirt off so I can see what's going on," she sighs. "Or - better yet, come with me. My stuff is in the other room." Away from Uryuu. If she's going to need V for this, she doesn't want Uryuu to see it.

Uryuu shoves his glasses up, embarrassed and irritated. He tosses the towel aside. "It slipped. I didn't realize you were trying to keep it a secret."

Or why it needed to be kept secret; or why Shikamaru had practically hidden behind him upon finding Yosuke in the kitchen. It's beyond irritating, feeling constantly out of the loop.

The quincy crosses his arms, waiting for them to move. Oh yes, he intends to follow. "I also have a few medical supplies if you need any." His private stash, stolen from the hospital.

"I can't-" Yosuke starts and then stops, realizing that his argument is invalid before it even leaves his lips. Still, his face flushes at the idea of lifting his shirt up and letting a girl take a look at the gross injuries on his side. Besides, he really needs to start working out. He hasn't gotten around to gaining back that weight he lost those first two weeks. As if he didn't look gawky enough without the extra bones poking out.

And then, there's the lecture he's bound to get when it comes to them noticing that those are Darkness injuries. He squirms again, miserably. Damn it, he really should have gone before breakfast.

"Hold that thought."

And he does his best to make sure not to keep weight off his bad leg when he darts out from between them and makes for the bathroom. Maybe by the time he comes back out whatever kind of lover's spat is going on ...oh, gods. They're-it's really like that. He shuts the door and leans back against it for a moment, still a little dazed.
