[ The quiet, secluded, and open spaces of the beach were ideal places to train. People were few to none; the occasional wanderer appearing every two hours or so but never paying the costumed child any heed. Patrolling in the daytime is uneventful for the most part. He didn't go to school, and he certainly did not enjoy mingling with the rest of society. Thus, this was what Damian would do instead. Today, he is testing out new equipment. A more lethal batarang, with microscopic teeth that curved outwards lining its already razor-sharp edges. Ideally, once lodged into flesh, it was supposed to be impossible to pull out, and this was what Damian was here to test out.

The moment he takes a step out of the bushes, however, he is sidetracked. The ocean is now in view, and there was a girl floating a few feet from shore. Her face is submerged, and that is a bad sign. Damian does not stop to assess if she's even still alive. No, he starts to run, feet trudging through the gentle, incoming waves. ]

[She's alive, still. Face-down and floating and inhaling water. The waves are gentle enough that she isn't budged too much, but it's definitely in his direction]

[ The water isn't that deep, so he reaches her relatively quickly. Damian hooks his arms under her own, and heaves her upward. Then, he drags her back to shore and lays her on the sand.

Okay, breathing. She's alive. But it doesn't take a genius to realise that she's inhaled water. ]

[She's breathing, but she's having trouble. She's still unconscious for the time being, pale and otherwise not looking so good. It looks like Damian's help may be necessary]

[ Of all the things Damian's been trained in, not a lot of emphasis has been put into saving. Fighting, yes, but not this. He does know basic CPR, but it doesn't look like the right time to use it. He's going to hit her on the back a few times and hope that it'll facilitate coughing. ]

[Luckily, that's all she needs. The coughing starts up prompts after, and she splutters out water as she does. There's a little groan as she starts to come to and her eyes crack open - barely - and blearily, at that]
