Who: You! Everyone! Open! When: Night of the 7th. Where: All over the Port. Summary: The EMP event has begun. There are no sirens. What will your character do? Warnings: Violence, please note in comment headers to be added
Sirens aren't normally the reason he rises. His body knows when the sun sets, a routine he's followed for longer than he cares to admit. The silence is odd though. The nothingness below Fangtasia. While that isn't completely off normalcy, his senses pick up the quietness of the bar above, the street above. The room is dark and with the power out, the vault that keeps them hidden is not working.
Godric checks his NV. Dead.
And so he waits.
Minutes pass as they do. He's unreactive to the clicking of the vault door opening, of the lights flickering on. His first instinct is to check the bar. While he does not wholly approve of the place, he wouldn't want the clientele being massacred either.
However he starts to hear it. The cries of the city. He picks up his head and then he is gone, a blur out the door.
ooc: if anyone needs rescuing, he's pretty good at killing things or maybe a group can be formed of people killing things? I don't know. Feel free to bump into him at Fangtasia or outside. Whatever fits.
Eric stood outside, looking west, his eyes wide, his skin prickled with goosebumps--he wasn't cold, even if he was, in fact, completely naked, staring out into the Darkness without moving. The lights were all back on, even if the screaming hadn't quite stopped.
He felt like he'd died.
It wasn't as though he hadn't felt an empathic link broken before, he knew it well, which was why vampires were always careful in who they allowed to share their blood--straight from the source. Matches had drunk from him, and now he was dead. It had woken him, but he had been too late.
The vampire did not move. It wasn't that he cared - no, he lied to himself, it didn't matter - it was that he'd have to hire again. It was frustrating enough the first time, and Matches had been good. Sure, he'd had his own motivations, but mutual use had served them well.
Was that...blood? His own?
Eric brushed his hand across his eyes, smearing it away, and turned toward the sensation behind him.
He felt that all too familiar pain in his chest. Something that stroke to the very core and resounded in his chest. Godric knew it wasn't his own pain. He stood behind his Childe and just watched. He watched him mourn. It was odd to sense his blood.
"I am here." He spoke softly.
It didn't particularly phase him that Eric was naked. He moved to his side though and placed an hand on his arm. "What is it?" He asked. It wasn't like Eric to be like this. Sure, he was emotional. Eric was perhaps the most emotional vampire Godric knew, but blood tears?
No, it was a loss. A loss Eric deeply felt. He wouldn't comment on his thoughts about it. It could only be one of two things. He lost someone he sired, or he lost someone that drank from him.
For Caster, the Darkness hardly posed a threat, but she could keenly understand the screams of fear that rose in response to its unheralded arrival. With a fine surplus of spells at her fingertips, she could tame any beast as her own through as much as a single word. However, she cared not to use those powers to aid any in need. Ever since arriving, she had been waiting for such an opportunity, and she wouldn’t allow any distractions to inconvenience her further still
( ... )
A vampire of Godric's age was highly in tune with his surroundings. More so than other vampires, especially more so than mortals. On a given day, he could tell the blood type of a group of humans. His senses were unmatched, being able to hear entire conversation rooms away when they were barely speaking
( ... )
When Godric failed to fall in line with her plan, Caster decided that the petty information she had about vampires from her world would be of no avail to her. However, she should have known. While she hadn't even considered Raphael a challenge, Godric was on an entirely different level. The Core clearly drew variations of the same species, and she would need to identify the differences before she made a second attempt.
Either way, she came prepared for the eventuality that her scheme wouldn’t come to fruition, and she maintained a smooth mask of composure.
"There is no need," Caster stated in a reassuring voice. "It will heal, and we need to attend to the safety of this city’s denizens first, do we not?" She swept her hand back, sending another surge of electricity at the creatures that were no longer provoked by her magic. "Do you have everything under control here?"
He straightened at the news. So his suspicions of her being a supernatural were confirmed. Godric had been around the block a few times to pick up certain things, and while he did not know it all, he was very old and very experienced.
"As much as could be." Control was relative. His eyes flickered back to the curling black objects. More were coming, but he was not afraid.
"Then I shall see to another section of the city," Caster decided, turning away from him.. "Take care." With that resolved, she began to return back the way she came, her robe fluttering in her wake like the feathers of a raven.
A plan was never without trial and error. With one already made, she would certainly need to tread more carefully, but it was worth it to learn more about the alternate variety of species populating the city. Besides, with her time in the city indefinite, she had sufficient time to correct her mistakes and devise a better plan.
