Summary: Mysterious flowering cherry trees have sprung up overnight. They're beautiful, but their petals have some strange effects...

[Of course Maya had investigated. She was a curious, nosy, thing and those cherry blossoms had both popped out of nowhere and were beautiful and worth investigating. So not only had she checked them out (and spent a few minutes sitting under them just relaxing), she'd put a few petals in her hair]

[Having that done, she made her rounds. The office, errands, grocery shopping, stopping by at various places...]

[OOC: Feel free to run into her wherever! She's basically going to be more impulsive and have less of a brain/mouth filter than usual, so blunter and a bit more open/honest, but good friends might get hugs, etc]

[Maybe. But she's too busy trying to balance a petal on her nose (and not sneeze) to realize it]

[Sometime after lunch, Re-l passes by the familiar girl on her way from an interview. At first, she's not sure if she should stop. She should get back to work, after all, but her immediate compulsion is to just turn to her--

And so she does, stopping on her path and glancing over to her. The smile is on her face before she notices it's there.]

Hello, Maya.

[Maya's face lighting up upon seeing Re-l isn't anything different than usual, nor is her bounding over to greet her right away. At least for now]

Ms. Mayer! Did you see them, did you see them?

[They're impossible to not have seen, but oh well]

I did, as a matter of fact. Beautiful, aren't they?

[Her smile is genuine and shows no sign of letting up for the moment. She reaches out to set a hand on the girl's shoulder fondly.]

I've never seen them before.

[The touch on the shoulder seems to brighten her smile, and she's shifting a little closer]

They really are!

You haven't? Then... [She seems surprised, for a second, and then she takes the petals out of her own hair and reaches up to put it in Re-l's--]

-We've got to make this extra special, right?

[She looks surprised at the gesture but then she leans her head down so Maya can put the petals in her hair.]

I've seen the trees in books. They're from Japan.

[It reminds her of Gin.]

Are they familiar to you?

[And in the hair the petals go] There! Now you're a cherry blossom, too.

I've mostly seen them in movies and stuff, but it's awesome to see them up close.

[She smiles, patting the girl's head briefly.]

So you've never really seen them either?

[She just glances at Re-l for a moment at that, as if unsure what to make of it, and then.. back to smiling]

Umm, from afar, once! Does that count?

[She nods, patting her head.]

Sure, that counts.

[She seems to ponder this intensely for a second, and then:]

You know what, I don't think it counts.

I think we should go look at them up close together, and that'll be the real first time!
