The Welcome/Greeting/Intro Thread of_frell August 13 2011, 00:18:21 UTC
[ Clad in attire clearly from her homeland (http://www.prlog.org/10309825-cheap-medieval-costumes.jpg), Hattie stood patiently at the long table near the hall's entrance, constantly changing the order of the items on top of it. There were small, rectangular boxes standing upright upon them of various colors: pink, red, dark blue and black. Upon hearing the door open, Hattie quickly turns and greets the newcomer with a bright smile. ]

[It wasn't obvious, but those familiar with Hattie would know there was a method to the gifts upon the table. However it likely wouldn't be obvious whom would be given what until a certain number of people had recieved them already.]

[She doesn't pick a box right away when facing the newcomer, obviously, instead starting off with a curtsy]

I'm glad you could make it! I'm Hattie, of course. How do you do?

[He comes wearing a full suit, dress shoes and all, and still has the mask on, he strolls in with a sort of cocky strut]

Whats going on, blondie?

[In places like this you have to expect the unexpected. But how, exactly, is one supposed to expect something like -that-? Hattie's smile twitches at the sight of Deadpool- Maybe she spoke too soon. But hey, he did show up in a suit, that stands for something, doesn't it?]

O- Oh. ... .. It's 'Hattie'. And there is a social gathering going on right now. Why are you dressed up if you didn't know that?

[She looks perplexed. What's with him? 'Blondie' hardly even -sounds- like Hattie!]

Ah, pleasure is all mine, I'm sure. Obviously there is a social gathering, I heard about the party. Whats going on is a way to say hello where I'm from. The correct response is 'I be chilling, yo'.

[Raised eyebrow, she was a strange one, probably one of the W.A.S.P types]

Oh.. Oh! I.. All right.

[Hattie clears her throat]

'I be chilling.. Yo?'

[She looks somewhat amused]

Well that is rather interesting dialect. So, do you wear cologne?

[Hattie seems to be stalling for something, unable to tell if she's just made peace with him or not.]

Ya, its pretty bomb alright. Of course, got to smell pretty and witty and gay. Otherwise how could I pity all the people who would envy me today?

[Can't believe I just said that, should probably not reference musicals to avoid seeming gay]

[Hattie gives a blank look at Deadpool for a very.. Very long time. Though for the sake of elaboration, it's a good twenty-five seconds]

I'm sorry it's -what-? You'll have to forgive me, I.. I don't understand. Well, I understood the last part, of course. That would be the same question I ask myself every morning.

[She gives a fluttering laugh, and reaches for a dark blue box]

I must confess, I wasn't expecting you to be here after our last.. 'Episode'. No hard feelings then?

[She really wasn't getting the references at all apparently, but he wasn't likely going to stop anytime soon. She seemed to like staring at him for awhile, probably meant she was into him. Yeah he'd have to assume that]

Really? You got yourself a magic mirror to tell yourself who is the fairest of them all too?

[He raised an eyebrow]

What would I have hard feelings about?

I -wish-.

[No really, she did wish.]

Those kinds of mirrors are things you have to sell your souls for or something- artifacts of legend; from what I understand you have to be in the know with dwarfs or something like that.

[She seems taken aback by the final question and quickly shakes her head, handing over the dark-blue box, about the size of an eyeglass case]

Er, nothing. I admit I'm not certain how you'd wear it but this scent is 'Rarity'. I think you'll like it, it's a touch wooden.

Yeah them dwarves be tricksy little things. Not quite as tricksy as hobbitsess, but up there fo shizzle.

[He stuffs the box in his pocket]

Neat, its not everyday a girl happily gives me wood, usually you got to pay for that kind of thing. Thank you kindly.

[He gives her a wink]

[She has such a perplexed expression, but she managed to catch -some- of that. She thinks]

Fo.. What? You're familir with dwarves? That's curious, you don't seem the type.

[Confused as she may be, she still has a pleasent enough smile]

Well then, I suppose today is your lucky day, you're welcome. And, it isn't actual -wood-, it's just a scent desciption.

By the way, I didn't get your name?

Oh yeah I've travelled all over the place, little lady. Seen a whole whack load of strange things. I'm what you call the adventuring type.

[His mask just seems to make a big grin as his innuendo passed right over her head]

It certainly must be. I've gone by a few names, most call me Deadpool.

[Well that's an odd name, though in context 'Robin Hood' isn't much better. Less threatening, but still weird.]

'Hattie'

[She corrects a bit sternly, but she seems interested in his tale]

Is that so, that sounds rather exciting! Actually, I happen to be a bit familiar with occupations like that- That means you have a sidekick, don't you? Or a minstral, perhaps?

Whatever you prefer, Hats.

[He shrugs, she sure had a strange name. Stranger then Deadpool? Well only slightly odd considering the usual crowd]

Sadly my sidekick was left behind in the land I left behind. There is a certain talking dancing cat I thought of making my minstral.

[Her eyes half-lid, and is about to correct him again but.. She decides against it]

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that..

[On one hand his idea for a replacement sounds good! On the other hand.. She looks at Deadpool like he's crazy]

Well that's just a bit impossible, don't you think? Cats don't -dance-.
