Who: Harry & Elaine What: Morning after When: Following Harry's return Where: Harry's bedroom Warnings: Mature themes. (Girls are pink, and boys are blue. These two have been purpling.)
Harry curled up next to Elaine, only half awake, a hand running slowly over her body. He had explored her thoroughly, earlier, rediscovering every inch of her, and how every inch liked to be touched and teased. For the moment though, he merely enjoyed the feel of her against him, the warmth of her body and the knowledge that they were here, together.
Blinking a bit blearily and trying to rouse his mind from the blissful exhausting it had slipped into earlier. Pressing closer to her, he gently kissed her shoulder.
Elaine made happy, humming sounds as Harry stirred, her body heavy--but her heart--light with contentment. It had been a long time since she'd felt so good. So safe.
"Close enough," she murmured, her hand seeking Harry's to thread her fingers through his. "I think we slept the day away and on into the next morning. The sirens haven't gone off yet." She rolled over partway, and pressed a lingering kiss to his mouth. "Welcome home."
"I do recall a lot of not sleeping as well," he said, giving her hand a squeeze as he kissed her back. Memories of the previous day flooded through him and he gave a happy growl at the contact.
"Not that I'm complaining about the non-sleeping activities," he quickly added. Those he had definitely enjoyed.
"Mm," she agreed, "Mhm." Elaine had enjoyed the non-sleeping as well the waking up next to him. "I'm glad to hear it," she said, "Because a certain wizard once predicted that it would never be just casual between us, and I'd hate to think that he had changed his mind in retrospect."
She smiled lazily. "You're getting pretty good at this."
"I don't think there was anything casual about last night," he said. The physical part of what they had done had definitely been intense, but there had been a deeper, emotional connection as well.
"And you're just saying that because the last time we did this I couldn't get any worse."
"Well...I wouldn't say it couldn't have gotten any worse," she allowed, tracing his chin with the thumb of her free hand. "Though it's not as if I would have known the difference at the time."
She kissed him lightly again. She'd had a time of it, evading all the faerie boys the Summer Lady had paraded before her, and part of her hoped that Harry never asked. She knew that he knew how deals were sealed in faerie. She didn't really want to think about his little...arrangement with Winter either.
"Anyway," she said, perhaps a bit too quickly after too pregnant a pause. "I have a feeling that we're going to get a lot more practice in the future, at this rate."
It hadn't even occurred to Harry that maybe Summer had thrown some Fae men her way, it definitely would have been a good way to get hold of a Fae/Wizard baby, which seemed to be a hot commodity. Hopefully it wouldn't ever occur to him.
"I think so too," he said, grinning at her and pulling her close for a deeper kiss. "And I noticed you have quite a few things moved in here already. Convenient."
Somehow, she'd managed not to sell her firstborn, and thanks to Harry and his pint-sized band of merry men, her life was her own again. It gave her an intense satisfaction to be able to share it with him now.
She didn't even bother trying to hide those feelings as she let her body meld against his, drinking it all in--even if that meant he got to see her blush when he pointed out her alleged schemes of moving in. "Well," she said, "It's not as if I had a lot of worldly goods stashed at the office anyway. I came over to do my laundry, and you were just...gone." She gave him another sheepish smile and confessed, "I might have obsessed over trying to find you, and when I realized you were nowhere in the city, and I'd have to take over all our cases, I figured I might as well use the space. Besides, somebody had to take care of Toe-moss."
"Right, it was just practical," he said, chuckling as he reached out to run his fingers through her hair. Feeling her press so close against him was already making it difficult to focus despite how much of that they'd been up to earlier.
"Although with all four of us here, we might actually need to look for a slightly bigger place."
Well, it was practical. It was also familiar, and it had been comforting to wrap herself up in his clothes, and cry herself to sleep on his pillow. But she wasn't going to delve into all that. There was no need.
"Maybe," she agreed, "If I thought you could fit one into this room, I'd suggest starting with a bigger bed, but we'll make do."
Elaine just smiled. "It seems to be working out okay so far," she said, kissing him again. "Are you ready for breakfast, or do you want a shower first?"
"I think eventually we'll want at least a little bit of space when we sleep, especially since you kick and hog the covers," Harry said, enthusiastically kissing back.
"And a shower would be good. Maybe we should shower together. Conserve water and all that?"
"Mm." Elaine murmured her agreement. "Conserving water is good. And who knows, maybe if we shower together, we can also conserve heat."
She laughed. She'd indulged in heating large kettles full of water to warm up a bath at least once while he was gone, but she knew Harry was a bit too long in the limbs to really fold himself comfortably into a standard size tub.
"Think you can still move, after yesterday's Olympic sex-athalon?"
"Are you trying to tempt me into a cheesy about how hot you are?" he asked. Not that he would need much, or any, tempting in that respect.
Her question was a good one though, at the rate they had been going he would be lucky if he wasn't paralyzed again. Shifting experimentally, he found that movement was at least possible.
She smiled, shaking her head. Not that she minded his quirky compliments, but he'd done a pretty good job of showing her how hot he thought she was already. She ran a hand up and down his arm appreciatively before rolling carefully out of bed, giving herself a moment to find her equilibrium. Yeah, she was definitely feeling the workout as well.
"I would offer to give you a rub-down, but I think we both know where that would lead."

"Morning?" he asked, not quite sure when it was.

"Sore, but I think I can manage a shower."
