Stone age love and strange sounds, too

Jul 07, 2011 18:16

Who: EVERYONE. NEW PEOPLE, OLD PEOPLE, THIS IS THE PERFECT TIME FOR EVERYONE TO MEET. RANDOM CR EVERYWHERE.
When: Friday night! The show starts at 7:30, but the doors have been open since noon. The party ends at 6am, after morning sirens. Tag yourself in whenever!
Where: Purgatory! Gabriel and Jinx's cabaret night club in Sector 5.
Summary: IT'S A BIG OL' PARTY. Everyone's invited! If you're not over 18, the bouncers will probably let you in, anyway. If you dampen powers, GTFO because you'll ruin the entire show. Tonight is Runaways themed! Joan Jett, in her prime, will be performing live on stage with Lita Ford, Sandy West, and Jackie Fox. Jinx will be performing with them, posing as Cherie Currie. Welcome back to the 70's, kids! Admission is $25 at the door, drinks and food (mostly desserts) will be served all night long. HAVE ALL THE FUN EVER.
Warnings: Yes. B|

For anyone who arrived early, the majority of the day was focused on small performances in the cabaret atmosphere. Drinks were served, mingling was had over light entertainment, and things went about their usual business. But, the second 7pm came around, everything changed into, well, a 1970's rock dream. The stage rose, the piano disappeared, and the club got at least twice as dirty looking. All the appropriate instruments were set out and the lights dimmed everywhere but the stage. There were tables and booths set up in most of the club, but around the stage was standing room only.

At 7:30, on the dot, the club went dark. There were the sounds of stumbling and laughing on the stage as the Runaways walked out, drunk and cussing. When the lights came on, just as promised, was Joan Jett in her prime. And, at the front of the stage, in a very iconic outfit, was Jinx with the microphone.

They opened with the Runaway's greatest hit, "Cherry Bomb"  and continued for a ninety minute set list. After they finished, the girls went into the audience to mingle. (Don't mind if some of them seem a little off. Gabriel is trying to keep up a lot of illusions at once and they're all on drugs, anyway.) Every so often throughout the night, they went back up on stage to do a song or two. Otherwise, there are a few other live performances, Gabriel occasionally grabbing the mic to troll the audience, and quieter music playing to encourage people to talk and mingle.

[OOC: Prose and actionspam are totally welcome. Make your own posts anytime, doing whatever. MINGLE. HAVE FUN. If your character decides start anything, they will be thrown out by an angry archangel, an ex-supervillain, either of the bouncers, or part of the wait staff just tired of their crap. THE ENTIRE PURGATORY STAFF IS WORKING TONIGHT. EVERYONE IS WELCOME SO EVERYONE COME ON BY.]
