Here's the thing: Alois will always be able to find Ciel. He's sure of this - he's made sure of this. He will check everywhere- every room, every box, every hopeless place, and he will find Ciel Phantomhive.
Once again, the other boy's taking refuge in the atmosphere of his mother. Alois stands yards behind him, trying not to breathe too quickly, and his eyes are red-rimmed. (So are his hands, and the sleeves of his shirt, in fact. That's blood, there.)

"I don't mind it." It's a soft, monotonous reply. Ciel doesn't turn, his back against the tree, fingers wrapped around his knees. It's a similar position, one he took when they were caged by the cult. He's trying to make himself small; unseen.
He wants to disappear.
