It was important enough to warrant sharing, in regard to its potential to be relevant to the Kira case, except perhaps not. Light could draw similarities between the two, but he knew better from his own personal experience. In terms of working with Near, though, it would seem perhaps like new information, relevant enough to be investigated, or at the very least, an acceptable puzzle to fix the young detective's mind on to distract him from the case proper.
Light would be able to move freely, it was only a matter of time
More importantly, there would be a new Kira message this afternoon. Light had set it up so that it would happen randomly during the hour after Near's arrival this time, therefore giving him a cast iron alibi. The message from Kira would interrupt them as they spoke. It was absolutely perfect, and best of all, he would be able to see Near's reaction to Kira first hand.
Nine percent. If it dropped any further, Near would have to speak to Mello on Light's behalf in regard to removing the cameras and audio equiptment in his apartment.

He stepped in through his front door, tossing the light rucksack he carried onto the sofa, then shrugging off his heavy coat. It was a little cold, so he'd turn the heater on for a bit, get it warm in here before Near came to frost it all up with his frozen robot emotions.
