Seven was no stranger to walking home in the Darkness, her temporary employer seemed to be happy to let the 'Newcomer' stay as late as she liked, perhaps hoping she'd get attacked or killed on her way back home. Normally she could avoid the night creatures decently well, her enhanced senses warning her well in advance of when she'd stumble blindly into the things, and the simple bludgeon weapon she carried was generally enough to incapacitate most creatures when combined with her strength.

She was careful, but usually not concerned. That changed when she felt a hand on her shoulder, an instant before its fingers clamped down, vice-like, and the blade against the small of her back. She stiffened, thoughts running through her mind a thousand a minute--none of them panicked, just honestly curious. How did this man sneak up on her?

"If money is your aim, I have none." Her voice was calm, collected. Even if she was afraid, she wouldn't show it.

[Just as a heads up, Sev has a bloodstream laced with tiny machines with not-so-nice functions. :| She will suggest you step away, Raphael.]

"Money is worthless to me." He tugged against her, using the dagger and his strength to drag her away from the front of the building, off to a side location where they could have a little more privacy.

"Never fear. I don't intend to take your life, unless it is foolishly offered to me."

Seven frowned, intending to resist--and she possessed enough strength to do so--but deciding cooperation was the more prudent course of action for the moment. There were any number of things he could have wanted from her, but until she could extradite herself from the situation safely, it was better to play along and wait for an opening.

"I do not intend to offer it," she said dryly. "But perhaps you should reconsider the manner in which you attempt to reassure those you assault."

"You'll find, madam, that I can be very convincing."

He continued dragging her off to the alleyway alongside the building, finally forcing her against the wall. He leaned in close to her and seemed to be... was he really smelling her?

"You have the scent of no woman I've experienced before," he muttered, close to her ear.

"You will find that I am rather difficult to coerce." But the knife at her back had her in a compromising position. She no longer had body armor, and even then primitive weapons were never easily deflected by Borg armor.

Seven went tense at the close proximity as she was pressed against the wall, the threatening presence, and the man's strange actions. She'd heard of various forms of assault--this was getting uncomfortably sexual.

"Remove that knife, and I will show you how different I am," she said lowly, turning her head to try and fix her eyes on her attacker--revealing the arch of metal curling around her left eye.

Raphael sneered, completely uninterested in that odd facial deformity. There were far stranger humans around here than her.

"I can't be bothered to care how different you are," he sneered, "Just so long as you bleed..."

He...wanted blood? Did that mean his aim was to injure? He had said that he had no interest in killing her, but there was much that could be done to a human body without loss of life.

Either way, she could not allow her blood--or more specifically, the nanoprobes in her blood--to leave her body. The results could be disastrous.

"Taking blood from me is inadvisable." Seven's muscles tensed in anticipation of a fight, she would lash out if he did not release her.

Inadvisable? Was that a threat or was there reasoning behind it?

"Why?" Raphael asked, in a voice that was far more of a demand.

"Because my blood contains thousands of microscopic machines that are very dangerous when removed from my body." It would be very nearly impossible--if not completely so--for Seven to control her nanoprobes and keep them from being removed. Without her implants controlling them, they would potentially fall back upon their original programming--to assimilate. That was too big of a risk.
