Summary: Sousuke's training up the kid so, one glorious day, the snotrag will be worth fighting.
Warnings: PG13 for the deathberry's language? Something like that.
The morning chorus hasn't yet started when a dark shape appears outside Ichigo's bedroom window, silhouetted in the first meek rays of watery sunlight. Cloaking his reiatsu to a fine art so as not to alert the hollow, he slides aside the pane of glass and steps inside, soft black jeans and a white coat silent as the tall figure makes his way over to the sleeping boy, standing at Ichigo's bedside for a moment to observe him in repose.
Really, there are few things Sousuke couldn't do in this silly little pocket universe, even with the Core and Voids' interference, yet no one seems to have noticed. Just as Aslan isn't a tame lion, neither is Aizen content to play his part of the dutiful professor and sometime-nefarious criminal. He could slaughter miles upon miles of the city's inhabitants with time to spare before the first alarm were to be raised; barely a fraction of his capability has been put on display for the entertainment of the masses, cultivating the slow revelation of himself to be a tenuous tightrope when brought up in conversation.
For a long time, toying with other people and finding replacements for the slumbering form in front of him is all he's had time for. Jomy, Madara, even a brief physical affair with Yosuke to simply add a little diversity; none of the emotions inspired in him have come close to the cutting thrill of sensing Ichigo's presence in the city.
At last.
He covers Ichigo's mouth with a warm hand and the long tapered fingers of a scientist, squeezing slightly to bring the boy around into consciousness. He tilts his face into the filtering sunrise, rain and distant thunderclaps dying as the storm passes, allowing the teenager to see who he is, if and when his eyes open.
They had better, because the pressure will only get tighter until Ichigo wakes up.
