[Since Alice had been feeling pretty bubbly these past few days on her vacation, she figured-- why not live it up and do everything the City had to offer? In any case, she was here now, with a glass of Margarita in one hand. She's wearing a pretty tube dress in dusty rose, with a simple cream knit cardigan on top to keep her warm. Anyone who comes across her gets greeted by a warm smile.]

[ The familiar voice comes from behind Alice, and if she turns she'll see Rin-- notably without a glass in hand-- standing behind her, one brow lightly raised. He's better dressed than he was the last time she saw him-- or more appropriately dressed for the weather, anyway, in a dark green turtleneck and a washed-out pair of jeans. ]

It has been some time. [ He still has the goggles on his head, though, and they're clearly visible when he inclines his head, lightly. ] I must say I am surprised to see you here.

Oh! Hello, Rin! [She beams up at him. She really is kind of wondering why he still wears those goggles on his head... but anyway...]

Really? You are? Why so?

[ He just wouldn't be Al Bhed without them! Rin simply smiles, shrugging. ]

I would not have expected a young lady such as yourself to be unattached. [ He's rather matter-of-fact about that. ]

[And that makes Alice blush a bit!]

Ah... well... I guess that means I haven't given myself enough time to really find love?

It must be difficult to find the opportunity to fit it into your schedule, considering the nature of your work.

Y-yeah... [She giggles a bit.] It is a bit tough.

[ He folds his arms across his chest, tipping his head to the side. ]

Perhaps you will be lucky enough to meet the man of your dreams tonight. [ Or one can but hope. The night is young, after all, and they're here until the next morning. ]

Maaaybeee... [She giggles and blushes, all so flustered over this kind of conversation.]

I'd like to think I can leave it up to destiny, I guess...

[ A little harmless flirting never hurt anyone! Besides, it fits the mood, anyway. Apparently deciding he's made Alice squirm enough for the moment, Rin just gestures at the room, which is (thus far) mostly occupied by non-newcomers. ]

I should think Destiny would not say no to a little assistance!

Do you intend to participate in any of the other activities planned for tonight, or are you merely here to mingle?

[As friendly as she is, Alice does get squirmy over anything that has to do with romance.]

Well... I feel a little awkward about speed dating, but I don't mind just spending the night mingling. [She smiles, getting over her squirming just a bit.]

Ah, yes. [ His trademark enigmatic smile, just barely quirking the corners of his mouth. ] I cannot say speed dating is something we practice in Spira, so I am not certain precisely how it is intended to work.

Basically, you and others sit in an arrangement where you switch partners after a certain amount of time. It's a good way to get to know people really quickly and find out who you want to get to know better later on.
