By the hand, then, Alois leads Ciel to his bedroom. He keeps books on his nightstand, for both himself and Luca, and so If You Give A Mouse A Cookie and his own growing-worn encyclopedia of spiders are moved aside so that Le Petit Prince can be retrieved. Alois can't read it himself; it's in French, this copy. (They have English as well, but he likes hearing Ciel speak like this.)
He sets the book down upon the bed and he begins to undo his coat - it hadn't been taken off after he'd come back in from his ridiculous tree-climbing. "I left our place marked," he says, shedding clothing.
