Who: Nurse Nonomura and Dr. Yumeno
When: In the midst of all the hustle and bustle-- sometime within the evening/super early morning.
Where: The staff cafeteria at Skye Medical
Summary: Stress levels are running high in Skye Medical due to-- well-- everything. So, what better time to take a coffee break?
Warnings: Nothing.
Alice poured the coffee from the staff cafeteria's machine neatly into two cups. While the coffee at Skye Medical wasn't really the best in her opinion, she had to admit that it often did the trick. And she did note that the coffee from the cafeteria was better than that in the staff room. But anyway, it was decent enough to wake the senses and at times clear the head. As she walked over to Daedalus, she thought that it was exactly that which he needed-- some clarity, a little breathing room amidst the roughness that was the past few days at Skye Medical.
Just a while earlier that evening, a large batch of heavily injured SERO loyalists were carted through the emergency room door, raising a great deal of concern among the staff. True, some of the staff at Skye were with the faction and seemed terribly troubled by the violence. But at the same time, perhaps the bigger concern they held was really-- how could they do such a thing? How could such rivalries cause so much damage to people this way?
Alice carefully wove her way past a few guests staying the night at the cafeteria and settled down across from the young doctor, offering him a gentle smile. While she herself had been bogged down by the physical demands on the past few days, she held it to herself to keep her hopes up-- and to keep caring, as that was what everyone needed in these troubled times. More than medicine, more than all that science could offer, Alice believed the most in the simple power of the human heart.
Looking at Daedalus now, she hoped that this conversation, no matter how brief, could help him cope with the stress of these past days.
"How are you feeling...?"
