Swept Aside tells the riveting tale of newcomer Phil Cane, a janitor with a sense of justice and a heart of gold, who overcomes all prejudice and odds to become a hero to loose women and schoolchildren of Siren's Port. After saving a striking AGI stripper from hyperthermia in his very first day in Siren's Port (slight change in seasons to accommodate filming weather), Phil goes on to stop a busload of kids from being driven into a volcanic 'core' (which has apparently emerged in Sector 7) by a nefarious cultist (curiously renamed Lamb Culpepper). The film's tagline is: "Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow?"
The film itself is somewhat reminiscent of Citizen Kane, filmed in black and white on old school equipment, with cinematics of an utterly bombastic arthouse flair. There's a sunrise and sunset scene filmed in sped-up time, which apparently took film crews out into the darkness to get done- a chattery point of gossip. One of these filmmakers has an obvious taste for old-timey propaganda. The owner of the Crest Theatre, as well as the Felton itself, seem to be gung-ho at promoting this film all over the festival.

And now he kind of wishes he DIDN'T go.
Though... "Phil Cane"... "Billy Coen"... It's not that close, right? Nobody's gonna make the connection, right?
... right?]
