The log will work as stated in that entry: individual threads should be started for each player-character-entered film with a description/video/storyboarding/etc. of the film to let fellow players know what happened in it, and responses can be posted with characters reacting to these films. Additionally, there will be a general thread at the top for random interaction. Just post a reply to that particular thread header for characters who want to just mingle and react to the festival itself rather than any entries. The only replies to the entry itself should be film festival entries.
The log will remain open after September 5 for continued interaction and backthreading, but all entries for the film festival must be in by midnight PST on September 5 (that is, just before it becomes the 6th), as an OOC voting post will be going up on the 6th to decide which entrant will win the prize.
The Felton Convention Center's main hall is very tastefully decorated for the film festival. Throughout the course of the day, several films will be played that show various viewpoints on the integration of Newcomers. Equipment has been set up at the front of the hall, and ample seating has been provided for visitors to watch the various short films in an auditorium style setting.
Refreshments are provided at a buffet table at the back of the room, and there is a wet bar where you must prove your age (19 or older!) to get an alcoholic beverage for a small fee. The buffet table is frequently updated and has cold cuts, fruit and veggie platters, sausage and cheese platters, finger sandwiches, pastries and various other desserts. Included is a large cake with tasteful decorations and the message "Welcome, Newcomers, to Integration." This cake will only be served to Newcomers, and it's chocolate and vanilla marble with vanilla buttercream icing.
There is plenty of mingling space, in general, and the seats are comfortable. Films start showing at 1 pm, sharp, and all guests must be seated or exit the auditorium for the duration of showing. Films are shown in groups of three, and film presenters are allowed to do a short explanation or introduction of themselves before the film is run. Each set of three films is separated by a 15 minute break for more mingling and discussion.
