Katara hadn't been to a great many parties, personally. Water tribe wasn't really given for the sort of dancing these people did. Although, there was that one time in the Fire Nation... that was actually fun, just the kids, away from the oppressive eye of the Fire Nation Soldiers.

Much as she disliked the reminder of black and red - colors of the Fire Nation - she had dressed appropriately and made her way into the club. She didn't go to dance, mind, but to listen to the music and perhaps mingle.

Christie had called him while he was at the theatre... hiding. The parties going on in the underground were loud and annoying. People in costumes and color and just... he didn’t want to be here.

And he wasn’t at first. He was invisible at first, walking with his NV to his ear. “But Christie... this is pointless. Can’t we just talk about it tomorrow an--- Yes, but if he wants to meet he could jus-but why there?” was the original conversation. Bullied into meeting his other employer at the Major’s Club he didn’t bother to change or dress up. He didn’t bother with the bouncers either. He slipped in, invisible, intangible and unnoticed ( ... )

Whoops, careful! Katara let out a small noise of surprise at the bumping, immediately turning around to either say 'Hey watch it' or see if the bumper had hurt themselves. Being that it had been an accident, she quirked a brow at the stammering.

Aww. "Hey it's okay," she grinned. Poor guy. "It was an accident. Are you new here too?"

He blinked, looking at the girl before him. Didn't clubs have a age limit? She looked... ah... about his age, and he was sure he wasn't meant to be here. Wait, no, he was sure he didn't want to be here. Hell if he knew if he could be.

None the less, he straightened up some, a hand running through his hair to push it back and out of his face (It didn't help any). "New? Ah... sort of. I mean..." Seriously? Why was he so awkward. Oh, right. People. Lots of them. "I mean... new to these clubs, yes. --Too?" Wait, too? He paused, collecting thoughts now. "You're new to... the club, or the city?"

Katara tended to carry herself older than she looked. And she'd been in the equivalent of rough-tough clubs like this before too. Sort of. Do seedy bars count?

In any case, she didn't plan on staying long. The smile remains on her face as the poor boy stammered through his response, sympathetic, "Both, actually. I just got here earlier in the week."

Yeah, those count. He's seen a few seedy bars himself, but even then he was invisible. This... being visible around people thing always had him paranoid now a days. He normally wasn't so stammery.

As she said both though he... actually smiled, just a bit. He wasn't one for smiling much either it seemed, but it was relaxing to realize the only person he bumped into was a newcomer as well and didn't seem to want to drag him off to some slave club or something.

"A week? Heh, welcome to the city then. Ah... I'm Claudio." He said, offering a hand from under the ridiculous cape. "I.. ah, really only showed up to meet my boss... but she seems to be busy again." And she was. Chatting at the bar with some friends. Hnn.

Certainly not! In fact, if someone did storm the club to kidnap people to drag them off to slave trade, she'd be among the first to try and stop them. So ... there's that.

"Thanks." She smiled back, even though her actual welcoming committee had been ...less than. Considering it was two of her enemies. Although one has been acting less enemylike than she was used to.

"Oh really? Wait... You work here?"

That would be something! He would just... fade out of reality and hide now a days, but... that was beside the point.

Huh? Work here? He blinked, then looked back to the woman at the counter then chuckled looking back to the nameless girl. "Ah, no. Not here. This is the first time I've been in this club really. Ah... that woman over there. I did an art project for her a while back. She calls me for work some times. I ah... actually work at the theatre. It's not far from here." Nor as loud and annoying.

"Ya need a job to make it around in this city. A job in a place like this would drive me crazy." and deaf.

[ Ugh Mun fail I thought I had written up an intro when Claudio introduced himself. *SEPPUKU!* ]

Well that was good for him, but what about the rest of the class? Besides, Katara was a bleeding heart - she wouldn't turn her back on anyone in need. Eever. As if someone invisible (like her mun) gave her a kick in the back, she startled a bit, and uttered a surprised and embarrassed Oh! "I'm sorry, I'm Katara." She offered a hand, "It's nice to meet you Claudio."

Ooo, an artist? "That's fantastic! I never met too many painters back home. Is your talent related to your job, or do you just paint on the side and for occasional requests?" After a moment, she chuckled. "It is a little on the..busy side. I don't know how they do it."

[Hehe, no worries. it still works out! lol]Yes, well... the rest of the class are on their own... for about five seconds before guilt kicks him and he turns back to help as well. He's not a bleeding heart, but he can't stand a bully and he tends to get himself into trouble all the time ( ... )

Katara has that talent for making people smile. Or mama-henning them to death. "That's good. It'd be terrible to get rusty from not using your talent like that, at least you can put to good use this way."

A pause as she took in his expression while he spoke. "Hey, so they like to spend their evenings a different way than you. Everyone's entitled - and it does look like fun." She grins. "Though I understand this sort of thing isn't for everything. The music is interesting, but even I don't think I'd be able to come to a place like this night after night."

"So how long have you been here?"

"It pays the rent. Right now that seems to be the important part." He said with a sigh, his hand reaching up to rub at the back of his neck.

Looking to her again, head tilted a bit he... frowned. She had a point. It was more the crowd of people that he was uncomfortable with. He was a bit of a social awkward, and his adventures in this city and before he came here just made working with people awkward. Hey, he'd been doing much better lately! But this... was a huge group of people. "I suppose I shouldn't complain. The setting is... just a bit uncomfortable to me is all. I'm not good with crowds." At least he was honest.

"About... ah, a little over six months I suppose? Half a year now..."

Rent... yes. She ...still needed to work out a job. "Rent. RIght..." She needed to convince those brothers to let her work there, and then she needed to find a place to live - granted it wasn't that much of a big deal since they've had campsites before - but with the threat of the Darkness...

Yeah. She didn't want to be out there.

"You've been here that long...all by yourself?" A small frown, and then she shook her head, opting to change the subject. By reaching out to grab hold of his wrist. "Well, if you're uncomfortable in a place like this, then let's go outside." Pulla pulla pulla~

Hm, if she had only been here for a week then, knowing the system here, she had another few weeks of a safe place to live. She seemed smart though, so he didn't speak more on the rent subject.

After all, no one wanted to be out in the dark at night if they don't want to.

All by himself? Well... sort of but... "I've... managed to make a friend here." Ah, but she was pulling on him now? He blinked, a little startled, but... let her. his feet stumbling along a moment, being pulled towards the one door that already had a lot of people at it seemed silly. He... stopped, reaching out to take her wrist, if she let him. Very light. "Wait..."

He nodded back to the wall they were near. He knew it was an outside wall because it was the one he came in earlier. "I know a faster way out, if... you trust me."

"Good, at least you're not alone here." Geeep! Katara stopped short when her own wrist was caught. "What's wrong?"

A faster way? But...there was only one way - oh, maybe a window or a back door... "Um -- sure I guess." He hadn't given her reason to not trust him, anyway.

So sorry Katara, but you said they can go outside and that is the best damn idea he has heard tonight. He should never have been in this crowd to begin with let along be visible. Anyone could have tagged him for... well, lets not get into that ( ... )
