Yes, well... the rest of the class are on their own... for about five seconds before guilt kicks him and he turns back to help as well. He's not a bleeding heart, but he can't stand a bully and he tends to get himself into trouble all the time.
"Katara..." He said, as if to memorize it. An interesting name. He took her hand in a light hand shake, giving her a small nod. "It's nice to meet you as well."
Huh, she had him smiling a bit still, and the talk of other things helped him ignore the annoying club goers. "Oh, I... just paint on occasion. I suppose I'm not too bad?" He only draws and paints 'trompe l'oeil' like a untrained pro. Not bad, ha. But... giving a bit of a sheepish smile at that he added "I managed to get a job doing props at the theatre because of it. So I suppose it's related to my job."
Glancing back to the dance floor and the groups of people, drinking and laughing and singing and such his smile flattened a bit, just... watching as he spoke. "To do this nightly..." he shook his head. No way.

A pause as she took in his expression while he spoke. "Hey, so they like to spend their evenings a different way than you. Everyone's entitled - and it does look like fun." She grins. "Though I understand this sort of thing isn't for everything. The music is interesting, but even I don't think I'd be able to come to a place like this night after night."
"So how long have you been here?"

Looking to her again, head tilted a bit he... frowned. She had a point. It was more the crowd of people that he was uncomfortable with. He was a bit of a social awkward, and his adventures in this city and before he came here just made working with people awkward. Hey, he'd been doing much better lately! But this... was a huge group of people. "I suppose I shouldn't complain. The setting is... just a bit uncomfortable to me is all. I'm not good with crowds." At least he was honest.
"About... ah, a little over six months I suppose? Half a year now..."
Reply
Yeah. She didn't want to be out there.
"You've been here that long...all by yourself?" A small frown, and then she shook her head, opting to change the subject. By reaching out to grab hold of his wrist. "Well, if you're uncomfortable in a place like this, then let's go outside." Pulla pulla pulla~

After all, no one wanted to be out in the dark at night if they don't want to.
All by himself? Well... sort of but... "I've... managed to make a friend here." Ah, but she was pulling on him now? He blinked, a little startled, but... let her. his feet stumbling along a moment, being pulled towards the one door that already had a lot of people at it seemed silly. He... stopped, reaching out to take her wrist, if she let him. Very light. "Wait..."
He nodded back to the wall they were near. He knew it was an outside wall because it was the one he came in earlier. "I know a faster way out, if... you trust me."

A faster way? But...there was only one way - oh, maybe a window or a back door... "Um -- sure I guess." He hadn't given her reason to not trust him, anyway.

"Okay, but don't jerk away or anything. Trust me." And to his annoyance three people pushed past, bumping into them. Yeah, he wanted to get out faster then fighting their way through a crowd of people. Still holding her wrist he tightened his grip just to be firm, and pulled her towards the wall.
"Seriously... trust me." And if she didn't make to yank away, she would notice he disappeared, having gone invisible. Funny thing is she went invisible a moment after. Pulling on her wrist, he moved towards the wall, grip firm, and yoinked them er... through the wall!
A moment later they were at the side of the Major's Club. There were hardly any people around, though one could tell where the vast majority of them still were. The air was cooler, the sound dimmed almost in an instant, and no one was crowding them now. He glanced back to her, hoping she wasn't going to punch him for that.

Which totally doesn't happen. The feel of the cool breeze, the quieter surroundings - she peeks open one eye first, and then the other. "Huh? Wh... how..." She glanced over her shoulder to a solid wall. She knows it's solid because she puts a hand to it and pats it firmly.
"How did ... how did we get out here?"
Reply
"S-sorry." He said first, looking at the toe of his shoe for the moment, giving a small shrug. "I brought us out here. It's easier to go through the wall then fight that crowd of people. Faster. Ah... I should have said something but... ah... sorry?" He knew it didn't hurt nor did she feel anything when he did it, so she was safe and unharmed. But really... he should have said more huh.

"So we just... literally... went through that wall? Like ghosts?" Apologize? PFH. "Claudio, that's fantastic! I've never seen someone with a gift like that before - and it saves us from having to fight the crowd just to get outside."
Suuure it would have been nice for him to have said something beforehand, but..! Regardless, she put a hand to his shoulder, smiling reassuringly. "Don't apologize, you did us a favor."

Glancing over at her hand on his shoulder then to her face he just nodded lightly, still smiling a bit. "Like I said. I don't do well in crowds anymore. And yes. Yes we just went through a wall. Like a ghost." He rubbed at his neck again. "It's not fool proof, but I generally can get around the city pretty well like that."

"It's a very handy ability I would say, especially if no one can touch you like that. How many people can you pull through walls with you like that?"
Reply
Ah, there was a pondering look, then a shrug. "Donno. I've only just figured this part out really. Helped my friend out back a month or so ago during an earthquake. Then the other night." and then just now. Yes... what he just did was not something he had done often, but it was something he was sure he could do with ease.

Spirits, this was insane.
"I'll be fine - I think anyone that tried to kidnap me would find they were in over their head." Probably. She paused at the latter, thoughtful. "Well, I'm impressed you have so much control over it if you only just figured it out."
Reply
"Just... be careful is all. I thought the same things when I first got here, but I seem to find people who can out do my powers off and on. I'm sure it will be the same for you." And it was true. People who could null powers or change them. It happened a few times, to his annoyance.
Impressed huh? He shook his head a bit. "It's not too impressive. It doesn't take much to do. Ah, you got a power?" He nodded out towards the rest of the mall, as if asking her to walk with him. "Want to see the theatre? Or is there anything around here you haven't seen yet?"
Reply
That was an outrage. Katara blinked at the question as if realizing where she was, and nodded slowly, "I've already been down there near the Lake, but I haven't had a chance to look around the rest of the place yet." No time like the present, right? "And yes, I do. I'm a waterbender." Proudly stated.
