[Another day, another video of Terra seated on the floor, ready to talk to the NV. It's very early. The first few rays of the morning sun are peeking in through nearby windows, illuminating what would otherwise be a pitch black picture. Directly behind Terra, serving as a backdrop, is a couch. On that couch is a large, blackish shape and strewn over that shape is a blond boy in his pajamas, half-covered by a blanket. Terra glances back at his friend, making sure he's still sound asleep before he addresses the NV in low tones.]
I know a lot of people probably aren't up yet, but I wanted to say this while it's on my mind.
[There's a grunt and Oro's over-sized wolf head lifts up out the mess of dark fur, Ven, and comforter all piled onto the couch. A little wiggling turns him around enough to stretch his neck out and lick at his master's ear. Apparently direwolf for Master, I love you, but I would like it if you could be quiet while my boy and I are sleeping.
Terra pushes his head away and goes on.]
Recently, a lot of crimes were committed against the hearts of the people here. [He gestures to his chest... and ends up having to shove Oro's head away again when the wolf continues to try and get his message across. Oro relents at the second push and rests his muzzle on the couch cushion, settling for staring blearily out of the corner of his eye at Terra.]
What I wanted to say is that I'm sorry. I'm sorry for what happened to those hearts. It's not going to happen again.
[He looks down, away from the NV. That was all he meant to say, but it doesn't feel like it's... enough.]
I'm sorry.
If any of the hearts haven't been returned or... made right, let me know.
[A sigh. Still not enough, but it'll have to do for now. Resisting the urge to apologize again, he reaches out and turns off his NV.]
[Action Option with the Apartment of Departure]
[The residents of the crowded Apartment of Departure, should they wake up any time soon, will find Terra sitting at the kitchen table, messing with
this puzzle he got as a gift (gosh those kids at the dojo have the weirdest opinions on what constitutes a good present) and keeping an eye on the food he has cooking.
Yes, he's making breakfast. A meal to approach with caution.
Oro's still on the couch, being a big, direwolf-shaped mattress.
Terra's already dressed, cleaned up, and ready for the day ahead. Big plans with his bropal. He's determined to have this be the good day Ven deserves, even if he has to keep a lot of his feelings under lock and key to make it happen.]
[Action with Ven]
[He walks the length of the theater and back again at a leisurely pace, finally leaning against the building, right next to one of the posters. For comfort's sake, rather than impatience, he folds his arms over his chest. Apparently these movies Ven's been so enthusiastic about seeing only play at certain times. If only he'd known that in advance, they might not have ended up having to wait for the next showing.
Terra doesn't look like he minds waiting, though.]
This had better be worth it. [An obvious tease given his smile and the light tone he uses. It's never been difficult to remember what things were like between them before, but sometimes it's a challenge to take hold of that past and bring it into the present. To look at Ven as his best friend rather than the best friend he let down, failed, and lost in some way.
There's also the nagging awareness that Ven's almost definitely from a different time, but all his questions and wonderings have been put aside for today. He'll go on talking about whatever Ven wants to talk about and devote the rest of the day to doing whatever Ven decides they're going to do, and he'll... as the Nobody said, revel in the moment. To the best of his ability.]
