[Voice]

Jan 25, 2011 16:08

Another three hours over pancakes, and raised voices, and a swirl of opinions. The obstetrics interns, at least, still welcome my company- even if it's been advised I steer clear of the NICU.

The object of hot debate today? Ten thousand dollars. SERO's Modest Proposal of commodification indeed. That humanity has the luxury and the option to personally consign their own unfertilized gametes over to research...

[There's a brief, numbed pause. A sigh.]

People take so much for granted. Their own reproductive rights. the clean sky, and the surety that there is a living world beyond this island.

Even so, dangerous. It's wet and freezing out there, expecting snow flurries by rush hour. This is a reminder to please take utmost care in the commute, and be sure to give yourselves plenty of time to get from here to there safely, before sirens.

[Out of irony, or perhaps some shaded sense of melancholy apology, there's also another haiku text sent to Raul, Re-l and Vincent, timed to send at 2:17 this afternoon.]
