Flattering, but I'm skilled at doing both, in a sense. I used to be an immigrant caseworker back in my home but I worked for the Intelligence Bureau as well, which is just a fancy title for the police.

As well it should. I kept the peace and investigated a series of disturbances. I also collected information if it was available, but things were generally stable and quiet until perhaps six months before I came here.

We had things called AutoReivs - androids - who became infected with a virus that caused them to be hostile. There were a series of murders and plenty of infected to hunt down and catch, one way or another. We also had a monster case, but that's a different story.

Ah, yes. The good doctor has mentioned them in passing -- I've never been one to favor artificial life as somehow being inherently more stable than organic. The same principles of self-realization and consciousness govern you both.

Did you eventually find the cause of the virus?

Daedalus? Yes, that's right. In hindsight, it was a bad idea to even pursue; they were instruments in the downfall of our civilization.

The virus was almost a piece of divine intervention. They were to become infected so they could rid the world of our existence since we had played our part.
