Five days off in a row, and then two weeks till my quarterly review. Time flies- and I almost don't know what to do with myself.

[Dr. Yumeno is apparently in a very pensive and candid mood tonight, sitting back thoughtfully on a sofa in a very modernist, clean apartment, dimmed, with cooled blues of a projection-image aquarium swimming on the wall ( Read more... )

[He's sitting at a desk several books propped open in front of him, occasionally scribbling on a piece of paper.]

To be honest Dr. Yumeno I think most people would be unprepared in these situations, but you do a fine job of remaining calm and informative in the troubled times. I've seen my fair share of healers and while some are more focused in on the injuries, you take the time to worry about more than that.

How would I go about treating an infected wound?

I do hope to.

It's just that I'm used to dealing with things on a larger scale- (though Romdeau was something of a microcosm in itself.) I suppose no one's expected to feel so secure, working under these circumstances...it's just a very different environment. Still very new.

How would you go about it? Have you been down to the clinic? How long has the wound gone untreated, and how long has it been inflamed? Do you have a fever? If it's bacterial, you'll need to be prescribed an antibiotic.

It does feel as though we've been dropped into the middle of a war at times what with the feuding companies. I agree that it's very new but I enjoy the chance to discover the changes. A larger scale, like being in charge of the entire city and not just one clinic?

[He sighs, frustrated. Remus wants to say it isn't him with the wound but he doesn't.]

No to the clinic. It went approximately six days allowing the wound to ooze and dry before being properly cleaned, and hot compresses are applied to help get rid of the infected material along with a sever cleaning spells. No fever as of yet and it itches. Bacterial, that would mean wonky yellow ooze, wouldn't it?

Yes. It wasn't as large a city as this one, population wise. Nor did it have the same...variety of persons with special individual needs.

[Private || Difficult to Hack]

Yes. That sounds like a bacterial infection. Aside from...er...cleaning spells? There's been no other magic involved thus far? I would go down to the clinic at dawn. I won't be there- but the waiting room fills up quickly after siren. It sounds like that will need a prescription for a topical or oral antibiotic.

It is filled with interesting people and I'm curious to know how the medical schools prepare future doctors to deal with odd injuries. I suspect the lessons not as diverse as we are so one can only do the best they can in certain cases.

There was one spell, in attempt to heal the cut up but none since the ninth. I'm afraid the clinic might not be an option until it gets worse. [Stubborn dog.] I'll look into things I can buy at the store.

[A momentary pause.] From your words, I'm guessing that you work nights at the clinic?

"Flexible," "Intuitive" and "Able to think outside the box" are words I've often heard used to describe the most acclaimed of my colleagues.

Over-the-counter anti-inflammatory drugs aren't always effective enough.

I do. I can recommend some of the doctors on day shift.

In the case of other newcomers I'm familiar with- I don't like making house visits while I'm off hours, but if that needs immediate attention and you're unable to get to the clinic, I can try and come out first thing in the morning to have a look, write a script.

I have yet to hear one of the doctors originally from this world make an announcement during a crisis directed in our direction. Seems they're all too wrapped up with the locals to bother with us. So that, in my opinion, makes you the best doctor around here.

[Private || Difficult to Hack]

If they aren't effective even with a magic boost I'll be sure to get to the clinic. Either that or I really will chop the arm off.

No, no. No need to come out for this, I was merely thinking of other things that might pop up in the future. The clinic is rather far from my warehouse and there may come a time when I'm not able to make the trip.

I don't think they have access to this network. Which is why I try to pass news along, when I hear it, and advocate for the newcomers where I can.

Please don't...joke about amputation like that.

Alright. Let me know, if any further complications come up.

I have noticed a rather big lack of communication between us and them. Are you told of this news or merely happen to catch it in passing?

[Private || Difficult to Hack]

My apologies, that was in bad taste. [Remus has been hanging out with Sirius far too much.]

Someone will contact you if complications come up. If not me than either Sirius or Lily will.

We're told of the chief concerns. To be fair, aside from issuing pamphlets in the waiting room, there's not a lot of health promotion around the city.

[Private || Difficult to Hack]

Very well. If the infection remains localized, it should be easily treatable.
