- the on button? And this is... for video...?
[at the trail off, a grainy feed slowly slides into focus. or, more specifically, a single golden-brown eye peers in. there's footsteps on pavement and a bit of a sway to the video, so whoever's using it is obviously moving.]And that all connects to a network, which connects to other people, who can--

And boy, it was a sight he wasn't going to forget for a long time. Rather than going over and startling the kid he sat down on his rump, tail wagging in amusement. His jaw dropped open as he laughed.]
Need some help, pup?

[and then seeming to realize that hey, this is another wolf. Toboe's eyes go a bit wide.]
Where- where are you from? Do you live here?
Reply
A few meadows and fields that were behind a mountain. I don't think you're from there, though. [Almost all of the wolves he's encountered in his world had dark fur.]
Yeah, I live here now. And you do too. I've been told it's impossible to get away from this place.

I come from a city; there aren't a lot of fields or meadows to be in, so...
... So, it's really true? [the lack of being able to get away. straightening up some.] But-- I have to get back. My pack needs me.

Yeah, I have a friend waiting for me, but it's a hard truth, pup. Even the really strong guys can't get out...

[padding forward a few steps. assuming that sad look is over being stuck here, though.]

[Gabu nuzzled the tan wolf behind the ear to comfort him before sitting down.]

[the comfort's appreciated, though he just sits, too, head still drooped and tail curling tight.]

[Gabu is back up and heading out. He thought he saw a hose for watering the plants outside somewhere.]

[jumping up to follow, looking every which way. too many new things to smell and see-- and where were they going, anyway?]

Over here! [He suddenly stood on his hind legs and loped over to where he found the hose coiled up on the rack and took it down.]
Hm... [He scratched his head. He was so sure that it would spray water? How did that gardener work it? Hint, Gabu: There's a knob right behind you.] Know how to work this?
Reply
[hose! it was one of those hose things. tail suddenly wagging - granny had used one to water her garden, before - Toboe was practically bouncing on his paws.]
You turn the knob, and cold water comes out. But it's hard to hold onto once it's on-- [not hard for human hands, but if he was supposed to use it to wash off, could he still use it...? .... well, that didn't matter. hoses were fun! that knob was getting twisted rather quickly. watch out.]

[Gabu jumped and yelped and laughed as the water suddenly gushed from the end. His hand-like paws gripped the end frantically, trying to control it as it whipped around.]
Hold on! [Gabu grinned as he tried to direct the torrent of water at Toboe.]

[holy Paradise that was cold. yelping, yipping and generally jumping out of the stream, jaws snapping at the water as if that'd fend the monster water away.]
[even that short burst did get some of the paint off, though.]
I-isn't there some kind of stream or lake near by, instead...? Or a bath tub!
Reply
Hey! Keep still! [He worked harder to keep the jet on the wolf, concentrating on larger splotches of paint.]
Err, the last time I went there the lake was looking horrible. It's not safe there. And- woah! - what's a bath tub?!
Reply
W-watch i-- er, why was the lake horrible? It's just a lake--! And a bath tub's a box with warm water in it! It's really nice.
