I've spoken with the Governor; he's a figurehead and a fool to boot. There are, however, two with whom I have not yet spoken. The government is not indeed in practice a democracy, but a plutocracy; true power lies in the hands of two competing companies, Afterglow, Inc. and SERO, each of which manages daily to outdo the other in sheer foul immorality. Their leaders are - remote, to say the least. I do not know if they know the true reason we are here. They are, I should say, the best bet.
