it mentions that Canada gained status as its own country on July 1, 1867, and that were still ties to the British empire for some time after, though those were finally gotten rid of in 1982.

I dunno! But I do know that we've got the queen or a queen or maybe it's a drag queen all the hell over the money. Plus they celebrate Victoria Day? And the queen comes to visit. I...

I honestly have no idea... Isn't Canada still considered part of the Commonwealth though?
