I have found that sunup is often a successor to exhaustion; this is not actually directly related to the fact that many wake in the morning. Simply, things happen at night. The sun rises after ordeals. The fact that sun will in fact keep coming up is an indication of another fact: the ordeal will have ended, sooner or later.

It depends on the something, and how quickly you expect it to arrive. For an important thing, it might be no time at all... waiting for something you expect quickly would make most people impatient. After all, if I asked someone for something and wanted a fast response, I might get annoyed quite easily. But some things take time.
