[ Not her usual video this time, but her Scottish is as distinctive as ever. It sounds like she's rummaging around and cleaning up, so there's a reason. ]

The snowglobes were nice while they lasted, yeah? I wasn't really expecting them to melt though. [ Guess who had to clean up a bunch of them? ] Sort of made me miss a few things. Well, okay, ( Read more... )

Yours melted too? Ugh. Glad I'm not the only one, I JUST cleaned up my desk. I miss that too. Looking at the stars, I mean. If you ever get stuck outside at night, you never exactly have time to look at them. ...That is, unless you LIKE getting bit in the face.

[Doesn't everybody?]

... How long've you not been able to get a hold of Sherlock?

Yep, and I had three of them here. [ not fun, even though she enjoyed having them. ] But ehm ... no I definitely don't like getting bit in the face.

[ sigh. remember when going outside was easy. ]

About a week. Ish.

Shit, I thought cleaning up one of them was bad enough. You musta had fun. [She laughs.] Me neither.

... Oh. [oh hey check out that edge of caution she's trying to cover up.]

Guess they had to have some kind of catch. [ chuckles back. ] It would be nice though, if there was a place to go where that wouldn't happen.

[ yeah, she hears it. ] ... They probably left, didn't they?

Oh, right. How could I forget. [HUMOR SO DRY but she laughs again anyway.] Yeah, it would be. You'd think somebody would have come up with some kind of reinforced skylight already.

[Welp.] ... I don't know. I can't lie to you. Maybe. [Gentler toned now, with positivity.] But it's not hard to just not see somebody for a week, either.

[ she can appreciate the dry humor, okay. that's why it makes her laugh again. ] That's actually a cool idea. I wondered if there was an astronomy tower or something like that here. But that might be a bit much.

[ hint of a subtle smile there. ] I'd want the truth anyway. And you're right, but I can't see Sherlock keeping quiet when I've called him out like this.

With the shit people can make around here, you'd think there would be. You oughta ask around.

Then don't worry, I can usually do that. You can't sugarcoat anything around here anyway. ... Doesn't mean you can't try sometimes, though. [TRYING TO HELP.]

Mm, from the couple of conversations I've had with Sherlock I wouldn't know, but... I hope you get a hold of him, soon.

Not sure it would work in the flats over here, but I might anyway.

[ surprisingly, she is helping. Amy would be lying if she said it was always a bit sad when people left, but there are some good reasons in this case -- if they'd both gone home together, that is. ] I understand, really. Thank you.

I won't exactly count on it, but at least I can be sure now he's not just being an idiot and ignoring my phone calls.

Who says it has to be in the flats?

Being an idiot's a possibility. He IS a guy.

Good point. Suppose I'm just selfish and I want one in my bedroom now.

[ a smirk. ] Right. In that sense, very true then.

Ooh, you're thinking of doing a skylight with your bedroom? If I had much to look at back home anymore I should have done that to my apartment in Cleveland.

Is he usually?

Hang on. ... Anymore?

[ maybe she should have though about question before asking it, but it pinged her unlimited curiosity. ]

An idiot? Mostly. He's right clever, of course, being a detective and all. But it doesn't mean he understands everything.

He's a guy though, like you said. [ Amy sees this as a running theme in the guys she knows anyway. ]

[Oh hey, she actually caught that.] Not anymore. It's... well, I don't mind telling you but I dunno if you'd believe me.

[She knows people's sense of what's possible and what's not gets kinda messed up being in Magic Canada, but she knows what it's like to have too much unreal-seeming stuff thrown at you at once.]

Oh, I know the type. I know more of those kinds of people than I thought I ever would. So he's a know-it-all?

[ she's quick like that! ] You'd be surprised. Besides, I'm used to it being the other way around.

[ there's honestly not much that she wouldn't believe. and her story about back home isn't exactly easy to swallow. ]

Sherlock is ... Sherlock.

[ she half-shrugs, sighing. because that sums it up, really. ]

You too? [Oookay, here we went.] Would you believe zombie apocalypse?

Meaning?

Always. [ but she's listening and, okay, that one is new. ] ... Ehm, it'd be a bit hard, and I'm not sure I want to. Still, I've seen enough monsters and aliens to believe it.

So, they took over? And there's nothing left? [ she's careful with her tone now. it doesn't sound like a light subject at all. ]

Meaning, he's a know-it-all and a show-off and everything else. But it works for him, I suppose.
