[When he sees Dean, John lets out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding. There was a part of him that was convinced he was hallucinating, or someone was fucking with him when he was down and out. Seeing Dean alive and well and here, though, it's the best possible thing that could happen to him after these past few terrible weeks.

Hope you don't mind getting hugged to hell and back Dean, because it's happening. Also, it's probably more affection he ever showed you from age 13 onward, but let's not dwell on that.]

[Like he'd ever mind an actual hug from his dad. It's a shock, sure. It makes him feel like he's a kid again. But Dean returns it abet awkwardly, and feels slightly more put together than he has in years. He sticks with it as long as John does and feels reluctant to let go when it's over. But he does.]

[The image of John's body going up in flames via the pyre hasn't left Dean. It's just as surreal to see him alive again.

He slides into the other side of the booth and rubs at his temples.]

I only got in a few hours ago, right around three am. Gotta say this place has a heck of a greeting for a guy.

[The next time a patron opens the door, an odd little device slips through. It looks a bit like a roomba, only it's hovering, and it has a very fluffy grey cover on top, kind of like a small cat bed. In actuality, it's a ceiling duster. The important thing here is that nestled on top of the duster is a small covered platter, made of very nice, nigh-indestructible ceramic. Inside are hot, freshly baked cocoa-peanut-butter cookies, lightly dusted with nutmeg and cinnamon.]
