[The feed turns on to Dante sitting at his desk. He has his legs crossed over each other on top of the desk, where a box of pizza is visible. The lid is blocking part of the view, but not enough to block the bird that is pecking at the pizza.

There is also a bird on the table, perched on the phone.

And another on Dante's head. With two more snuggling

Of course pizza is impo--Why yes! This is Styx, my lil' buddy. He guards my shop while I'm away. [Dante grins widely.] Although apparently guarding it from birds is too hard.

[Forget the pizza, Dante's new dog is a leaping pile of bones clinking enthusiastically as it scrabbles about on the dark hardwood floor. Rain watches in fascination for a bit before realizing he feels just a tad jealous of Dante having a pet that interesting.]

How on earth did you get him?

I adopted him! From a news ad.

Some necromancer reanimated his girlfriend's dog and she didn't want it. [He's told this story a bunch of times but it still doesn't fail to get a grin out of him, because he thinks the girl just missed out.]

He's such a good buddy yes he is...

Yeah...I think she missed out.

[He smiles widely. It's at this point, unfortunately, that one of the birds takes a pit stop on Styx's head when he tries to bite it and the poor dog is forced to try and paw it off himself. In the process, the dog's tail swipes something off to the floor, something red and blue and pointy.]

Oh geez! [Dante moves off the screen. He says, from a distance away:] I'm getting a paper towel.

[Meanwhile Gnome Chompksi joins Styx in the video feed.]

[Dante comes back a moment later holding a roll of paper towels. As he is helping Styx rid himself of poop, he notices the look on Rain's face.]

What? It's just bird poop. [He raises an eyebrow.]

W-w-where did you get that thing?

[He gestures to the gnome]

Oh that? Rochelle gave me that. [Dante picks it up with a paper towel, because it was slightly smeared with bird poop. He wipes the white goop away and puts it back.]

{Oh, so THIS is where it had gone! Rain knows Dante better than Rochelle and it probably thought this was the best way to get closer-
