[ Oshi a unicorn sighting! Though she's not paying much attention to the feed. ]

I have never seen such a fuss made over such a holiday. Such gaudy decorations laid upon the establishments I pass, and even upon the trees themselves.

I daresay she would have many words to share with being decorated so, were she awake. [ Someone's tree buddy ( Read more... )

['Oshi a unicorn' is right. There's a few seconds of blank staring (and thinking back to the sticker on his bong at home that she resembles, kind of) before he replies.]

...It really sucks, huh?

If by these words you mean it is unpleasant, then yes, that is so. I am most unused to this cold.

Well yeah, dat, I guess. [Pickles grew up in northern Wisconsin. He's got ninety-nine problems, but the cold ain't one.] ...I meant de Christmas decorations, though. They suck. You agree with me, right?

I have no quarrel with their presence. In truth, I have no opinion of them, as long as they cause no harm to the forest or its creatures.

Dunno if de trees really appreciate bein' humiliated with lights an' fuzzy boas an' tiny angels an' shit. But whatever, I dunno. [A shrug.] Yer one chill unicorn.

It is no doubt preferable to having their lives shortened - I do not believe they mind overly much.

I am ... chill? Yes, it is rather cold during these evenings.

Oh right. People choppin' 'em down an' puttin' 'em up in their houses. I had a buddy back home dat said it's like desecrating de corpse of a tree. [Though he doesn't mention that it was mentioned in an approving light.]

...No. I mean, yer laid-back. Relaxed. Cool as a cucumber.

Yes. However, it is more than simply killing them - it is destroying the homes of creatures that would otherwise have lived in those trees.

As a...cucumber...? [ What weird phrases. ]

I have not heard such a phrase before. Yet if I am 'laid-back' I suppose I have always been this way. I have never considered this matter.

Well, you are.

I can see dat. I mean, people just goin' in an' choppin' down their homes--kinda sucks. Unless y'know, some of de animals are assholes.

Ass... holes..?

I do not know this animal. What manner of creature is it?

[Oh god, Pickles. Why are you corrupting this pure soul with your horrible colloquialisms? D8]

Okay, uhh...lemme give you an example. Say yer like, grazin' in a meadow or somethin', just mindin' yer own business. Then someone comes up an' kicks dirt in yer face, or tries to cut off yer horn. Dat's an asshole.

[ It's hilarious XD I mean - SHAME on you Pickles. ]

... [ Okay that's an example she actually understands. Still. ]

No creature of the wood would do such a thing - save for a human. Does this mean that they are these creatures known as assholes? Many have coveted the horn of a unicorn.

[ Sad part is she doesn't even know it's not exactly a nice word. :D ]

[Perhaps even sadder than that, Pickles is the very last person who will stand up and defend the human race, as proven in his last conversation with the mermaid. His shoulders lift in an offhanded shrug.]

Yeah. Most humans are assholes--or dildos or douche bags. They probably cut off yer horn for no good reason, right?

Humans have so many different terms for their kind - does it not get confusing when addressing one another?

[ She shakes her head with a slight shudder. ]

There is reason enough, though I think it poor. I am fortunate to never have had my horn cut off... for such an act, may as well kill such a creature. It is to remove their very being, and for no reason other than the value of our horns, or to be used as regiments for spells.

[ She stomps a hoof slightly, at that. She's heard of many a unicorn captured for its horn. It reminds her that she may have been in a similar position if Mommy Fortuna had a mind to use her horn rather than show her in a cage. ]

No more confusing than it is to have different names for like, different kinds of animals and fruits an' shit.

[A slight notch appears between his eyebrows.] ...But yeah, I guess I can see where yer comin' from. I've got a few parts of me dat I wouldn't really want cut off, either...
