- There's all kinds of controversy brewing around St. Matthew, bounty hunting legend and rumored assassination coordinator, this morning. It seems sometime last night a local hacker and blogger, Allen Wheeler, managed to get around the highly guarded network system and log into the mainframe used to store all records of past bounty transactions.

This wellspring of leaked information contained things like who requested targets within the past six months, who filed transactions, the amount of money paid out and from which accounts (several appear to be SERO or AGI affiliated), and who were the hunter or hunters calling it in. These lists are not and have never been available for general public viewing.... until now, that is. St. Matthew's people tracked down Wheeler in their system and managed to both boot him out, and also change privacy settings so that none of the information could be used or accessed until a better way to lock it down could be found

But, as is the way with the open data network, that's all it took. Earlier this morning, the sixteen pages of hacked private data released to the general network Bounty Hunting site where St. Matthew organized work, showing in NV pop ups, flashing across the screen for anyone to see. These were quickly screencapped and apparently saved, because not an hour later, the lists were back out on the general net.

St. Matthew's database has issued a report claiming they have repaired the damage and that the site would be back up tonight and ready. She also said that the whole situation was regrettable and terrible, because Mr. Wheeler did not realize the extent of the damage he caused, but that she hoped to get his help in fixing things.

Wheeler's public comment was much less kind, and mostly unsuitable for editorial printing on public newsfeeds. It makes him sound like a raving lunati. He also gives a link for his blog, which seems mostly focused on crazy conspiracies, crackpot theories, and things that the general population mostly believes are not true.

The hurried report continues, promising further updates about the whole situation from both the SPPD, St. Matthew herself, and the governor’s office, but since the story hit with such short notice, largely based in network rumors, they hope some clarity will be along for the follow up into this fascinating case, as police will likely be called in to arrest Wheeler.
