GOOD MORNING, SIREN'S PORT!

Ah, some of you may argue with me that it is not a good morning at all! And there certainly have been lots of bad things in the news lately, haven't there? BUT THAT IS NO REASON TO THINK THAT IT IS NOT A GOOD MORNING! We must all be enthusiastic, or risk depression! There is a reasonable amount of sunlight, I counted ( Read more... )

You've finished it already? That was fast!

Baking is easy enough to do if you're careful with your measurements, though I'm not sure what you mean by 'Commoner's Cake.' [a pause, and his smile turns into a sly one.] For the sake of impressing someone, is it?

Yes, the first book has been completed! You can do anything quickly if you put your mind to it, you know! And I am very efficient!

Is it easy? I have never tried to bake anything before, so I am excited! Ah, do you think that it is better to use one of those box mixes that they advertise on television? Commoner's Cake being cake that commoner's eat, of course! And, er-- [thinks for a second, then nods enthusiastically] Yes! My dearest daughter Haruhi would be very impressed if she saw that I was able to bake a cake! And it takes a great deal to impress her, you know! Such a willful child! [He sighs, but keeps smiling]

Well, the amount of enthusiasm you have is difficult to compare to!

I prefer making everything from scratch, myself - that way, you're really in control of the quality of the product, and it simply just tastes better. [he chuckles quietly when he hears the second part of that response, already sure that there's a long story about why that's what Tamaki called Haruhi and why him trying to impress her sounds like something else entirely.] How did she become your daughter?

That's true! I suppose I do set the bar rather high, don't I? Well, it just gives everyone else something to live up to!

From "scratch"! I see! Ah, have you done a lot of baking in the past? Perhaps you could help me! I want to get this correct, and if you're an experienced baker, then who better to ask?

Oh, she's been my daughter for most of the school year now! Er, that's just what she is! She has a real father, you know, but I am like a father to her, which is perhaps just as good, if not better! Because someone has to protect her from all the traps and pitfalls while she's at school, you know! Demon twins waiting to assail her at every corner--ah, and she was kidnapped once! She needs her Daddy, which is why it's so hard to be here! Who knows what trouble she's run into without me by her side!

Quality is something good to have.

I suppose I could; there are a lot of occasions when I work from home, anyway, and there is time. What kind of cake do you want to bake?

Your classmate seems to have a very exciting time in school. Getting kidnapped is something rather unusual, though - kidnapped by whom? [then, curious,] Is she good at running?

Er, what kind is the best? Ah, but I suppose that's a matter of personal preference... Well, then, perhaps I will--

[HORRIFIED GASP] I DO NOT KNOW HARUHI'S FAVORITE FLAVOR OF CAKE! W-What sort of a father am I?! How can I make her favorite cake when I do not even know what her favorite is!

Ah, but Ouran IS a very exciting school, especially with the Host Club around! She was kidnapped by the Zuka Club, our bitter rivals! Do you know, they wanted to take her away from us! The n-nerve! As if such a thing were even possible, severing a daughter from her loving family!

Er.... Running? Not that I'm aware of! I think she's probably rather average at running. Why do you ask?

That shouldn't be a problem. We could try making different types of cakes; that way, you could already make something when you know what her favorite flavor is, even if she says she likes several kinds. Isn't that something more impressive?

[he was quickly finding these types of rivalries to be immensely amusing, the way Tamaki tells it.] It sounds like such a commotion. Was the Host Club able to make a daring rescue?

No reason. All those adventures simply reminded me of something, that's all.

Ah, you're probably right! She would be FAR more impressed if I had several recipes prepared! You're far better at this sort of thing, aren't you! Have you done copious amounts of baking for the purpose of impressing someone with your talents before?

[strikes a pose!] YES OF COURSE! It was a VERY daring rescue! We had to wear costumes and everything, and pretend like we were Zuka Club devotees, and infiltrate their foul school! They forced Haruhi to be in this terrible play--well, the play was really rather good, honestly... But it was terrible because of WHO WAS RESPONSIBLE! But we saved her in the end! And I managed to preserve her--

WELL, that part isn't important! Suffice to say, we rescued her, and yes, it was daring!

Oh? Do you have lots of adventures, where you are from?

No, but I still have to cook something impressive, or they'd complain.

[he knows what he meant, and lets it slide. It was unnecessary to bring it up, anyway, and Tamaki did mean well... as possibly entertaining and endearing as it was to make him blush and flail more.

some of the habits he had picked up from those two left in the shop really were questionable.]

You sound like you had fun infiltrating that other school, although you were more focused on saving her, and it's good that it ended well.

I suppose you could call them that. [a contemplative pause as taps his chin, absently running his thumb on the pipe that he held in his other hand.] There were fun ones, and there were sad ones, most of them likely unbelievable.

Would you like to hear one of them? Though you might find this a little scary.

Oh, so you're just very helpful and accommodating! How nice! Ah, so you cook lots of things, do you? Meals, and things of that nature? Hm, perhaps I ought to learn something similar... It would be useful!

[all blushiness and flailing is immediately forgotten! onto more important topics!] We had a great deal of fun, of course--we always do! Although there were moments of extreme danger and strife! But it was all worth it in the end!

Ah! I would love to hear about your adventures! Don't worry about me being scared, I am fully prepared!

[sits down in front of the NV, all eager!]

Proceed!
