Text/Voice: Announcement of Criminal Complaint Against AGI

Oct 27, 2011 10:45

[This post is submitted in text; however, Diego also records himself reading it aloud. His voice is absolutely, casually calm, as though he were simply reading a grocery list.]

The prosecutor's office of the City of Siren's Port hereby announces the organization of a criminal complaint against Afterglow, Inc.

Due to various budgetary circumstances, the city of Siren's Port has relegated authority over the city Liquor Control Board to AGI. This lawsuit alleges that in the course of enforcing liquor codes, AGI has sporadically applied the law in order to benefit the company, rather than in the interest of upholding city policy.

This charge accuses AGI of the following:

- Targeting neutral and SERO-affiliated businesses, unfairly applying the laws to levy fines and penalties against them.
- Using false claims to remove the liquor licenses of neutral and SERO-affiliated businesses, limiting competition in the service and food industries.
- Ignoring infractions of liquor code in AGI-affiliated businesses.
- Misusing legal loopholes to escape fines and penalties in AGI-affiliated businesses.

The laws and codes of Siren's Port are in place to ensure the fair and just treatment of all individuals and businesses. They are not to be used as a company's personal weapon. Representing the citizens and the city of Siren's Port, the prosecutor's office will not permit any company to twist these codes from their original intention-- if proven in court, measures will be taken to ensure that the laws will be interpreted fairly for all, regardless of their status or affiliation.

Any businesses or citizens who feel they have something to add to this investigation regarding evidence or testimony, please contact my office, or contact me personally via NV.

Diego Armando
District Prosecutor, City of Siren's Port

[Responses will be either to the announcement directly, or just to Diego's NV.]
