[Axel's at his desk at Xino Mao, apparently on his lunch break since he's eating a bowl of noodles. He twists a tangle of the curly ramen around a pair of chopsticks and grins at the feed before lifting the chopsticks in something like a toast.]

Man oh man, this place really knows how to keep people on their toes, don't you think? I mean, you ( Read more... )

[The pirate is also in her office, leaning back and rubbing her neck as she looked at a laptop style NV.]

I wouldn't be surprised if someone tried cashing in on these nightmares soon. [She was also on a break, though unlike him she wasn't enjoying lunch. The lack of sleep was starting to get to her.]

And now I wonder if the owner of the nightmare could sue them for that...?

They would have to be willing to admit they were the original owner, I would think. As well as have proof to it. Loopholes would be easy to find, I'm sure. [she looks rather annoyed at that actually. Most of her friends have had dreams out there. She's scared her nightmares will be there as well]

I guess that's true. Can't imagine anybody wanting to claim any of these as their own, anyway. [He's sure not piping up.] Though maybe since we've all already been subjected to them in dream form the movies would flop anyway: we'd already know how they end.

For a city so full of monsters they do seem to like their share of bad horror films. Is that normal for cities on this planet? [because yeah, she's not from around here so all she has to judge by is Siren's Port]

I can't speak for this planet in particular, necessarily, but I think bad horror films are kind of a universal invariant. I like 'em because compared to a lot of the crap I've seen, watching someone get chased by a guy in a rubber lizard suit is funny as hell.

.... [The image in her head was her rubber made captain in a lizard suit running after poor screaming chopper---Yes, she realizes this isn't the same thing that he means but... close enough.]

[Remembering Killer Croc however made her smile and state:] Around here I'm surprised they resort to rubber suits when they could have had the real thing. I suppose it's true though. I'd rather watch the cheap film then relive some of it.

Maybe the movies are to desensitize folks; make the real ones seem less scary. I dunno, the people in those movies are always idiots anyway, though. Seriously, who the hell runs upstairs to escape the bad guy?
