003. Third distraction

Oct 15, 2011 15:08

[The scene opens on a dark city street, vacant of people for it is night and the Darkness clings to everything. For those who are rarely out in it, the sight of the city at night is something you try to stay away from, and this is why. It's thick, starless black, and the Darkness is like a disease, a rot, that covers every surface and rusts every metal. Things move in it. Small monsters and large alike. Something with a large head is reflected dully in one of the windows where perhaps someone is sleeping soundly just on the other side, deliberately ignorant of the monsters ten feet away, passing through the night.

But the monsters aren't alone out here. The shadows that seem to move with life twist and curl. They thicken, darken, just to the edge of the shot, and a familliar scalloped cape passes inches away from the screen of the NV, still carrying tails of ethereal shadow with it.

The cape flickers and takes off out of the screen again, and a moment later - if you watch the reflections - it's possible to see a fight going on in the darkness. Something black, illuminated in brief flashes of Darkness, and a huge one eyed troll, which after a minute or two of fighting lurches over and crashes to a dead stop on the ground opposite the camera. Dead being the operative word.

The scalloped cape reappears in the camera, turns. Only now will a sharp watcher be able to see that this is not the true owner of the cape - after all, Batman doesn't wear jeans, does he? Suddenly the camera moves at shocking speed, untouched by human hand it returns to the hand of its owner, who raises it up to his face. A smirk dances across his lips, even as dark shadow begins to eat him and the camera up again:]

I'm the goddamned Batman.

[OOC: Clue: no, he's not. Action threads are welcome. Sylar is obviously out to make a statement and draw some attention after him, so I'd be totally down for a few confrontations (non-lethal as preference, but im me if you want to throw your lamb to the slaughter; Regasssa). Sylar will predominately mock a little and then shadow walk away, as Batman's power is very useful for quick escapes.]
