The news becomes more interesting daily. I suppose I should not limit my statement of interest to the newsfeed alone--there are many, many circumstances that have increased my attentiveness to several important topics--but the attacks are something that have likely caught everyone's attention.
Almost more interesting, I think, are the reactions to the attacks. The law enforcement seems typically disinterested, though I could be wrong about that. The original residents are likely loathe to speak out against actions so congruous to their own thoughts. That was to be expected. But among the newcomers, most seem concerned with merely protecting one another, banding together to form a united front against a common threat. Yet is the threat so common? Is all of this the work of one person, or one group? Has it been the same person or group since the first murder? Why has the level of severity decreased so significantly over a period of mere days?
The answers to these questions are not being sought. Rather, people are content to form personal coalitions to combat the threat, and not discover the source of the threat itself. This action merits some criticism, I think. I always find the reactions of people to be interesting in isolated situations such as this, and this was not necessarily unexpected. I suppose it is a natural answer to a threat. But is no one interested in the root of the problem?
...Also, I found a jigsaw puzzle in my supply that I have not yet constructed. It was still in its original packaging. Three thousand pieces. I do not know the reason for my laxness in its construction, but its discovery could not come at a better time. It is always good to have something to do.
In addition, I would like to speak to the proprietors of the two establishments that were recently attacked. Or anyone closely connected to these particular attacks, I suppose.
